A Prayer for Restoration and Guidance
"They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." - Romans 3:12

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You in humble adoration, I reflect upon the profound truth found in Your Word, specifically in Romans 3:12 which states, "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Lord, this verse pierces my heart as it reveals the state of humanity—how we have strayed from Your path, and how the corruption of sin permeates our very beings.
Lord, I recognize that we live in a world where it feels as if the cries of the lost and the broken echo louder each day. There is an increasing sense of despair as we witness the actions and choices that lead people away from Your love and guidance. The reality of being unprofitable—of rendering ourselves incapable of producing good—burdens my spirit. Father, it is by Your grace that we are even able to desire to turn back to You, and I am grateful for the opportunity to seek Your face.
I ask for Your forgiveness for the times I have strayed from Your ways. For the moments when I have pursued my own desires, ignoring the still small voice that calls me back to Your light. Help me, O Lord, to recognize the sin in my heart that leads me away from You. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness, purify my motives, and restore within me a right spirit.
As a society, we have become so self-absorbed and disconnected from the truth of Your Word. I plead with You, Father, to break the chains of selfishness that bind us. Help each of us to see that in our quest for fulfillment, we often fall prey to the empty promises of the world—into the waywardness that Romans 3:12 describes. Open our eyes to the truth that true fulfillment is found only in You. We have all, indeed, gone out of the way, seeking satisfaction in fleeting pleasures rather than in the everlasting joy that comes from knowing Your presence.
Lord, grant us a desire to turn back to You. Create in us hearts that long to do good—not just for our own sake but for the sake of our communities and the world around us. Teach us to walk in the paths of righteousness, to seek justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You, our God. Let us not resign ourselves to unprofitability, but rather ignite a passion within us to be vessels of Your love and grace.
In the midst of darkness, allow us to shine brightly as beacons of hope and truth. May our lives be testimonies of Your redemptive power. As we lean on You, may You empower us by Your Spirit to do good works, motivated by Your love flowing through us. I pray that we would be agents of change in our families, workplaces, and communities, exemplifying Your love to those who are lost and broken.
Heavenly Father, I lift up those around me who may feel overwhelmed by their sinful nature. Remind them, O Lord, that though we are nothing in our own strength, with You, all things are possible. Help us to remember the beauty of Your grace that invites us back whenever we stray, restoring us and guiding us gently back to Your fold.
As I conclude this prayer, I thank You for Your everlasting kindness and compassion. Let these words linger in my heart, spurring me to share Your truth with those who have wandered. May I be a constant reminder of hope in a world steeped in despair, and may Your glory be revealed through our lives.
In the name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
