Following the Ark: A Journey of Faith and Trust

The priests, the Levites bearing the Ark, symbolize the mediators of God’s presence. They were pivotal in bridging the gap between the people and God. In our context, Jesus Christ serves as our High Priest, who intercedes for us and invites us into a relationship with the Father. Every time we feel distant from Him, we can remember the Ark’s journey was about God’s desire to dwell among His people. Our pursuit of God is a call to recognize that He is always near, beckoning us to come after Him.

The command was accompanied by a necessary preparation: "Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you" (Joshua 3:5 KJV). Preparation for God’s movement requires holiness and a readiness in our hearts to receive His blessings. We, too, must engage in daily sanctification, confessing our sins, and seeking to be cleansed and made new. The wonders He performs often depend on our willingness to prepare and position ourselves for His work.
