Mark 8:7 (KJV) states, "And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them." This verse comes from a passage that recounts the miracle of the feeding of the four thousand. The disciples found themselves in a predicament: a large crowd had gathered to hear Jesus, and they were without sufficient food. Eager to provide for the needs of the people as well as to acknowledge their commitment to the teachings of Christ, they were discouraged by their limited resources. It was in this moment of limitation that Jesus demonstrated the power of what appears to be insignificant.
