A Prayer of Remembrance and Gratitude for God's Marvelous Works
"Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;" - 1 Chronicles 16:12

O Lord Almighty, the Creator of heavens and earth, we come before You today with humble hearts, seeking to reflect on Your greatness and the marvelous works that You have done among us. As we are reminded in 1 Chronicles 16:12, "Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;" we pause to recollect and meditate on the magnificence of Your deeds and the power of Your word.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of life, for every breath that we take is a testament to Your sustaining grace. Each sunrise tells of Your faithfulness as the darkness of night gives way to the light of day. Your creation proclaims Your glory, and in every corner of this world, Your handiwork is evident. When we look at the vastness of the sky, the majesty of mountains, and the beauty of nature, we are reminded of Your power and creativity. It stirs our spirits to remember that You spoke everything into existence with a single command.
Lord, we lift our voices in praise and remind ourselves of Your miraculous interventions throughout history. As we recall the wonders of old—the parting of the Red Sea, the guiding of Your people through the wilderness, the walls of Jericho that fell at the sound of praise, and the significant moments in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we find ourselves in awe of Your might and mercy. You are the God who performs wonders and gives deliverance, and Your judgments are just and true. We confess that too often our focus drifts from these truths; we become oblivious to Your workings in our lives and fail to share them with others.
Father, we ask for the grace to remember Your marvellous works actively. Help us instill a spirit of remembrance within us that is not only retrospective but also forward-looking. As we recall the blessings in our past, let it fill us with hope for the challenges we face today and tomorrow. Let us speak of Your faithfulness to our children, recant Your wonders to our friends, and write them upon the tablets of our hearts so that we may not forget.
In our modern lives, where distractions abound, grant us the wisdom to pause and reflect on the beauty of Your creation and the grace that surrounds us each day. Forgive us for the times we have taken our circumstances for granted, not seeing the miracle of provision, healing, or support that You have placed in our lives. We acknowledge Your hand in every success, in every healing, and in every moment of joy, and we commit our lives to constantly glorify Your name.
May we become vessels of testimony, sharing the stories of how You have transformed our hearts and lives. Let our remembrance of Your works encourage and uplift others who may be struggling to see Your goodness amidst their trials. Help us to bear witness to Your truths boldly and lovingly, inviting others to seek and experience the wonders that You continue to perform.
We also lift up our prayers for those who may have lost sight of Your wonders. For those who feel alone, forgotten, or overwhelmed, we ask that You draw near to them. Remind each of us during difficult times of Your presence and the miracles that surround our lives, even when they are not apparent. May we find renewed strength in knowing that You are actively working, shaping, and guiding us towards Your divine purpose.
As we close this prayer, Lord, we commit to actively remember Your marvellous works, to meditate on Your wonders, and to echo the judgments of Your mouth to generations to come. May our lives be a living testament to Your glory, forever proclaiming Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
