Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and reverence, recognizing Your sovereignty over all aspects of our lives. As we reflect on Your Word, we are reminded of the significance of seeking Your guidance in every decision we face. In 1 Chronicles 26:14, we read, "And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward." Lord, we see in this verse the beauty of Your divine providence in directing our paths and the necessity of wisdom in the counsel we receive.

Father, we understand that You are aware of every detail of our lives. Just as Shelemiah received his portion eastward and Zechariah, a wise counselor, was given direction northward, we seek Your divine lot in our own lives. We ask that You would illuminate our paths, guiding us to the right decisions as we embark on the journey You have set before us.

Lord, we pray for clarity in our choices. We often find ourselves at a crossroads, unsure of which direction to take. In those moments of uncertainty, help us to turn to You, our ultimate source of wisdom. We acknowledge that our understanding is limited and that we desperately need Your insight to navigate the complexities of life. Fill our hearts with trust in Your plans, believing that You know what is best for us. We pray that our will would align with Yours, surrendering our desires to Your perfect purpose.

As we seek Your guidance, we recognize the importance of wise counsel. Just as Zechariah was noted for being a wise counselor, we ask that You surround us with individuals who are filled with Your wisdom. Help us to recognize those who have a genuine heart for You, whose counsel is rooted in Your Word. May we have discerning hearts that can distinguish between wise advice and that which is contrary to Your truth. Lead us to true friends and mentors who lift us up in love and point us towards You.

Lord, in our pursuit of wisdom, remind us of the importance of humility. Help us not to rely on our own understanding, but to earnestly seek You, who gives generously to all without finding fault. We pray for the wisdom that comes from above, pure and peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. May our relationships be enriched by this wisdom, fostering understanding and unity.

As we reflect on the lots cast for Shelemiah and Zechariah, we are reminded of the unpredictability of life’s outcomes. We know that even when we do our best to seek Your will, circumstances may not always unfold as we expect. Help us to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that You are always at work, even in our least favorable situations. Your promises are true, and we claim the assurance that You work all things for the good of those who love You.

Let us not be discouraged by unexpected turns in life, but rather strengthen our resolve to lean on You. Cultivate within us a spirit of hope, knowing that You are in control and that, like Zechariah, we can approach every situation with wisdom and confidence through Christ. May we find peace in Your presence, realizing that we are never alone in our journey.

Finally, Father, as we walk through life, let our lives be a testament to Your faithfulness. May our decisions reflect Your glory and draw others closer to You. Teach us to invite others into the same counsel that we seek from You, sharing the wisdom we receive in the community of believers. In all things, we seek Your lot in our lives, trusting that each step is directed by You.
