Heavenly Father,

We come before You in reverence and humility, acknowledging Your holiness and faithfulness. Lord, we are reminded of the words in 1 Corinthians 10:21, where it is declared: "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils." This powerful message urges us to evaluate the choices we make, the paths we walk, and the allegiances we hold.

As we reflect on this scripture, we recognize the gravity of serving two masters. We understand that our devotion cannot be divided; our hearts cannot truly belong to You while they are simultaneously drawn to the temptations and distractions of this world. Lord, help us to discern the influences that pull us away from Your sacred table and challenge our commitment to Your word.

We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have taken lightly our responsibility to choose You above all else. There have been moments, Lord, when we have allowed worldly pleasures and desires to lead us astray. We are sorry for the times we have sipped from the cup of devils rather than solely from the cup that You offer—a cup filled with love, grace, truth, and everlasting life. Cleanse us, O God, and renew a right spirit within us.

Lord, we desire to drink deeply from Your cup, to partake fully in Your table. Teach us what it means to abide in You, to be nourished by Your Word, and to partake in the fellowship of Your Spirit. As we seek communion with You, may we also seek to distance ourselves from anything that would compromise our relationship with You.

Help us to recognize and reject any form of spiritual compromise. Reveal to us those areas in our lives where we may unknowingly engage with the table of devils. Whether it be through deceptive practices, unhealthy relationships, materialism, or ungodly entertainment, expose those elements so that we may no longer have a divided heart. We desire to be wholly Yours, dedicated and set apart for Your work.

Heavenly Father, strengthen our resolve to live according to Your will. Grant us the wisdom to choose wisely in every situation. When faced with temptations that draw us away from You, empower us to stand firm and declare, "No! I choose the cup of the Lord, for in Him alone is my satisfaction and joy." Allow the Holy Spirit to empower us in these moments, guiding and comforting us through the trials we face.

Lord, we pray for unity in Your body, the Church. May our community of believers stand together, committed to rejecting the ways of this world. Help us encourage one another in faith, so that we may all confidently partake in Your table—together seeking Your presence and proclaiming Your goodness.

As we partake in the Holy Communion, remind us of its significance. It is a reminder of Your sacrifice, Your body broken, and Your blood shed for us. Let us approach with gratitude and reverence, understanding the weight of what it represents: our full participation in Your love and the promise of eternal life.

Lord, may our lives reflect our commitment to the cup of the Lord. As we navigate the complexities of this life, we trust in Your guidance. Let our decisions be informed by a desire to glorify You in all that we do.

Ultimately, we seek to honor You with our lives. Reinforce in us the truth of your word; may we always choose the table of the Lord over the chaos of the world. Let us bring joy to Your heart by aligning our hearts with Yours, and by living in accordance with Your purposes.
