A Humble Reflection on Grace and Redemption
"For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God." - 1 Corinthians 15:9

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You, I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:9, where he humbly proclaims, "For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God." Lord, these words echo deeply within my soul, and I approach Your throne not with pride, but with profound humility and gratitude.
I thank You, O Lord, for the gift of grace that surpasses all understanding. You have called me into fellowship with You, despite my unworthiness. Just as Paul recognized his own failings and missteps, I too recognize the times I have strayed, the moments when my actions have not mirrored Your love and light. I confess my shortcomings and sins, realizing that I have fallen short of Your glory. In those moments of weakness, I have sometimes turned away from the path You have set before me. I am reminded that I am not deserving of the calling You have placed upon my life, and yet You offer me forgiveness and renewal.
O Lord, may I carry with me the same spirit of humility that Paul exhibited. He acknowledged his past as a persecutor, and in doing so set an example for all of us who carry shame over our own histories. For it is through this acknowledgment that we embrace the true beauty of Your redemption. I pray that I may never forget the magnitude of my transgressions, nor the depth of Your mercy. Teach me, Father, to extend this same grace to others. Help me to see beyond what people have done, and instead, to witness the potential within them—potential that echoes the redemptive work You have authored in my own life.
Lord, I seek to see myself as Paul saw himself—not to dwell in self-condemnation, but to rise up in the strength found in my weakness. I may feel unworthy, but I am reminded that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). As I wrestle with my identity and my place in this world, help me to remember that being 'the least' in Your kingdom does not diminish my value; it reframes my purpose. I desire to be a vessel of Your love and grace, candidly sharing my story of struggle and redemption with others who may feel lost.
Heavenly Father, grant me the courage to acknowledge my past without allowing it to define my future. May I use my experiences—not as a crutch or an excuse, but as a platform to glorify You, sharing the testimony of Your saving grace. As Paul went on to impact countless lives for Your glory, I too want to be an instrument for Your will. Stir a passion within me to serve, to uplift and to encourage others, no matter who they are or what they have done.
Help me to remember that the church is made up of imperfect individuals, just like me—redeemed by the blood of Christ. May I approach each encounter with love, compassion and understanding. Guide my actions and my words, that I may reflect the embrace of Christ to those around me, providing a safe haven for the wounded and lost.
Thank You, Lord, for Your unending grace and mercy. Thank You for the redemption story we can all claim through Christ Jesus. In all things, may I glorify Your name, living my life as a testimony of Your love, just as Paul did. Let my journey serve to encourage those who feel like they are beyond hope, for in Christ, all things are made new.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
