Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your presence and guidance. We thank You for the gift of Your Word, which illuminates our path and teaches us the ways of righteousness. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 5:8, “Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” Lord, may these words resonate deeply within us as we bow before You in prayer.

Father, we recognize that the 'old leaven' represents the remnants of our past lives, filled with sin, deceit, and all manner of wickedness. We confess that at times we have allowed these influences to remain in our hearts, tainting our relationship with You and with others. We sincerely repent for the moments of malice that have crept into our lives—thoughts of anger, resentment, and envy that have taken root in our hearts. Forgive us, O Lord, for yielding to these dark inclinations and allow us to seek purification through the power of Your love.

Help us, O God, to celebrate the feast of our faith with hearts that are untainted and souls that are cleansed. As we recognize the beauty of what it means to partake in Your feast, may we be ever mindful of the importance of sincerity and truth. Teach us to cast aside all that is deceptive within us, that we might embrace honesty in our thoughts and actions. May Your Holy Spirit empower us to live authentically, reflecting the truth of Your Word in all aspects of our lives.

Lord, we pray for a spirit of sincerity to envelop our congregations and communities. Let our gatherings be filled with genuine fellowship, where love abounds and the bonds of peace hold us close. Help us to recognize that true unity is founded upon sincerity and truth—where each person can bring their authentic selves before You and be embraced by the grace that flows from Your loving heart.

Help us, Heavenly Father, to examine our hearts and our intentions. May we not become complacent, relying on routine and tradition, but rather be fervent in our desire to walk in the newness of life You offer. Grant us discernment to identify the leaven that remains in our lives, that we might uproot it and replace it with the yeast of Your Word, which brings forth the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

As we reflect on our past, help us to learn from our mistakes and acknowledge the ways in which we’ve allowed sin to stain our hearts. Let us not linger in guilt or shame, but rather elevate our eyes towards You, knowing that Your mercies are new every morning. Allow the truth of Your redemption to empower us to move forward, freed from the shackles of our past. May we strive to keep the feast joyfully, with hearts uplifted, knowing we are welcomed into Your presence.

Lord, let our lives be a testament to the sincerity and truth that You exemplify. May those around us see the fruit of our transformation and desire to partake in the feast we celebrate—an invitation to embrace the righteousness that comes through surrendering our lives to You.

In all things, may we bring glory to Your name, living as a reflection of Your unchanging love. We ask all these things in the precious name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
