Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts bowed in reverence, acknowledging Your supreme authority and the holiness that permeates every aspect of Your being. We thank You for Your Word, which guides us, instructs us, and illuminates the path of righteousness. The truth of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 resonates deeply within us, reminding us of the high standards You have set for Your people.

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived...” Lord, help us to recognize the gravity and the implications of these words. They serve as a solemn warning against unrighteousness and remind us that Your kingdom is not a place for those who persist in sin. We pray that You strengthen our resolve to pursue holiness, to seek after righteousness with all our hearts, and to embody the values of Your kingdom here on earth.

We acknowledge, Lord, that there are many distractions and temptations in the world that threaten to draw us away from You. The culture around us often celebrates behaviors that are contrary to Your Word—be it fornication, idolatry, or any form of immorality. Father, give us discerning hearts to distinguish between what is acceptable in Your sight and what is not. May we not be deceived by the allure of instant gratification or societal pressures that push us towards sin. Help us to remain steadfast in our faith and to be courageous in standing against the tide of unrighteousness.

Oh Lord, we bring before You those areas in our lives that may reflect the struggles mentioned in the scripture. If there is any fornication, idolatry, or adultery among us, shine Your light into those dark places and bring us to repentance. As we confess our sins, we trust in Your promise that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Renew our spirits, Lord. Cleanse us with the precious blood of Jesus, who paid the price for our sins.

For those who feel trapped in behaviors that are described in this passage—whether it be misuses of sexual identity, thievery, covetousness, drunkenness, reviling, or extortion—let them feel Your love and grace surrounding them. We plead for their redemption and transformation. Redeem their hearts and minds, Lord, and break the chains that bind them. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).

As we think about the consequences of unrighteousness, we pray for the strength to avoid the company of those who might lead us astray. Surround us with godly friends and mentors who encourage us to walk the narrow path that leads to life. Help us to find joy in fellowship with those who also strive for integrity and purity in their lives. May our conversations be filled with edification and our time together serve as a source of encouragement to pursue righteousness.

Lord, we also intercede for our communities and the world at large. Help us to spread the message of Your love—the good news that salvation is available to all who repent and believe. Empower us to be bold in sharing the truth from Your Word, as we strive to uplift others towards living a righteous life that pleases You.

As we close, we express our deep gratitude for the grace that covers us. Thank You for the hope we have in inheriting Your kingdom, not through our own efforts, but through the grace of Jesus Christ. May we walk worthy of that calling, always mindful that our lives reflect our love for You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray.
