Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, reflecting on the life of King Jehoshaphat as noted in the sacred text of 1 Kings 22:50, where it is written, "And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead." Lord, we seek to understand the weight of legacy, leadership, and the profound impact they have on generations that follow.
O God, as we contemplate the life of Jehoshaphat, we recognize that he was not merely a king, but a man who sought to walk in righteousness, to honor Your commandments, and to pursue peace in a tumultuous time. He made decisions that were often difficult and faced enemies that were many. Yet, his heart was steadfast towards You. Lord, help us to emulate that same courage and commitment in our lives. Teach us to lead by example, whether as parents, teachers, friends, or leaders in our communities.
Father, as Jehoshaphat came to the end of his reign and his time on earth, he did not face death with fear or regret, but with the comfort of knowing he had strived to follow Your will. Help us to live our lives in such a way that we, too, can rest confidently in You, knowing we have done our best to fulfill our purpose and bring glory to Your name.

Help us to disciple and nurture the younger generations, so they may rise to lead with Your love and truth in their hearts.
Father, may the cities we dwell in and the families we nurture be filled with peace and justice, just as Jehoshaphat led during his reign. We are reminded that our actions today will pave the way for the future. Let our footprints be those that lead others closer to You.
