Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and humility, acknowledging Your greatness and sovereignty over all creation. As we reflect upon the words of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 2:6, "Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ," we are reminded of the true nature of Christian ministry—one that seeks not accolades, praise, or recognition, but rather a humble dedication to serve You and others.

Lord, You have shown us that true leaders in Your kingdom are those who do not seek to elevate themselves or to bask in the glory of men. Help us to internalize this lesson in every aspect of our lives. Deliver us from the desires for worldly recognition and temporal glory, for we know that our worth is not measured by the approval of others but by our relationship with You. We are so often tempted to seek validation in the eyes of our peers or to chase after vanity, forgetting that our calling is to serve and not to be served, to give and not to receive.

Father, grant us the grace to embrace humility in our hearts. Teach us to regard ourselves as servants, following the example set by Jesus Christ, who, though He was in the form of God, took on the nature of a servant for our sake. May we learn to find joy in serving others, knowing that in doing so, we are fulfilling Your will and reflecting Your love.

We confess, Lord, that at times we have been driven by the want for recognition. We ask that You forgive us for moments when our actions have been motivated by desires for glory, rather than by a pure heart that seeks to uplift and encourage our brothers and sisters. Let the words of Paul resonate in our hearts, reminding us that we, like him and the early apostles, have a calling that transcends worldly ambition. We desire to embody a spirit of selflessness, consistently pointing others to You rather than to ourselves.

Help us to create environments where others feel valued and cherished, free from the burdens of competition or comparison. Let us celebrate each person’s unique gifts and contributions, reminding ourselves that every believer is called to partake in the mission of the Church. When we gather in fellowship, may we encourage one another to pursue the work of the kingdom with passion that stems from love—love for You and love for each other.

In our pursuit of Your calling, Lord, guide us back to the heart of service, where our actions stem from compassion and kindness, not from a desire to please men. May our lives be characterized by generosity—of spirit, time, and resources—so that we may never be burdensome to those around us. Rather, let us strive to be a blessing, lifting others’ weights and walking beside them in their struggles.

As we follow the example of the apostles of Christ, infuse our hearts with Your Holy Spirit, empowering us to come alongside those in need with humility and grace. May our mission be to carry forth the good news of Jesus, reflecting His light in a world shrouded in darkness.

Lord, we desire to be vessels for Your purpose. Help us to remember that the ultimate glory belongs to You alone, and may our lives be a testament to Your goodness and mercy. Sustain us in our endeavors, strengthen our resolve, and help us to live in a manner worthy of our calling. In everything we do, let it be for Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom.
