A Prayer of Seeking and Commitment
“And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.” — 2 Chronicles 15:2
Heavenly Father,
In this sacred moment, we come before You with hearts open and eyes yearning to see You in all Your glory.
We reflect on the profound words found in 2 Chronicles 15:2, ‘And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.’ Lord, we recognize that these words carry an eternal truth—to seek You is to find You, and to forsake You is to invite separation from Your beautiful presence.
Father, we humbly come seeking Your face today. We align our hearts with Asa and the people of Judah and Benjamin, who were reminded of Your unwavering loyalty and love. We desire to understand the depths of this scripture, recognizing that our relationship with You requires our active participation. We declare today our intention to be with You, Lord, in every moment of our lives.
As we meditate on this verse, we feel a calling to action. We seek the wisdom to comprehend how to stay in alignment with You. We ask that You illuminate our hearts, guiding us in the paths of righteousness. Help us to recognize the areas in our lives where we may have strayed from You, whether through distractions, disobedience, or indifference. Reveal to us any unconfessed sin that stands as a barrier between us and the fullness of Your presence.
Lord, we long to experience Your nearness, and as the verse promises, we acknowledge that when we seek You, we will find You. Teach us how to seek You earnestly. May our hearts be open to pour out our supplications before You, to delve into Your Word, and to commune with You in prayer. Help us to cultivate a spirit of worship that honors You in our daily lives.
In this journey, grant us the strength to choose faith over fear, to trust in Your plans even when the path seems unclear. Give us the courage to stand firm in our commitment to You, even in the face of trials. Remind us always that Your presence is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. As we steadfastly seek You, we trust that You will reveal Your plans for us, plans to prosper us and to give us hope and a future.
We also ask for the grace to encourage others in their walks with You. As Asa led Judah and Benjamin, grant us the wisdom to inspire those around us to deepen their relationship with You. May our lives reflect Your love and light, drawing others to the truth that You are always with us as we are with You. Help us share Your love in both words and actions, showing that seeking You brings peace, guidance, and purpose.
Yet, Father, we are keenly aware of the second part of this message: ‘But if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.’ We pray for the strength to remain diligent in our faith. Guard our hearts against complacency and spiritual apathy. Help us to recognize when we might be neglecting our relationship with You, and stir within us a desire to return to You swiftly, knowing that You are ever patient and ready to welcome us back.
In the stillness of this prayer, we commit our lives, desires, and fears to You. We ask that You instill within us a relentless pursuit of You, Father. May we always seek You first in all things and trust in Your promise that You will be found by us. Thank You for Your mercy, grace, and the precious assurance of Your presence.
