O Sovereign Lord, Creator of the heavens and the earth, we come before You today with reverent hearts and open spirits, yearning for wisdom and understanding. We reflect upon Your Word, particularly the account in 2 Chronicles 18:20, where it is declared, "Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith?" This profound moment in Your heavenly court reveals the intricate workings of spiritual realms and the divine authority You hold over all spiritual matters.

Heavenly Father, as we contemplate this scene, we acknowledge our need for Your discernment. Like the spirit that stood before You, there are many voices in our world today seeking to entice and lead us astray. We are acutely aware that the enemy prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Thus, we earnestly pray for an outpouring of discernment, that we may recognize and resist every temptation that seeks to pull us away from Your will.

Lord, we ask for Your Holy Spirit to guard our hearts and minds. Fill us with a spirit of wisdom, that we might distinguish between voices of truth and deception. In moments of uncertainty, help us to seek Your counsel before making decisions. May we find solace in prayer, turning to You for clarity when whispers of the world grow loud.

We pray for the courage to confront the enticements that come our way. Just as the spirit presented his intentions before You, help us to bring forth our anxieties and fears, those things that can entrap us, and lay them at Your feet. Teach us that true freedom and strength come when we submit our desires and ambitions to Your greater plan.

Father, You are omniscient and Your ways are higher than our ways. As we navigate the complexities of life, remind us that truth is not subjective but found only in You. We remember the instances in our lives where we have been lured away by worldly desires; moments where we placed our trust in fleeting pleasures rather than Your everlasting promises. For these times, we seek Your forgiveness and grace.

In the spirit of humility, we acknowledge that we are often easily swayed. Just as King Ahab was enticed by false prophets, we too can be influenced by societal pressures and peer opinions. Lord, grant us the ability to filter these influences through the lens of Your Word, that we might hold steadfast to the path that You have ordained for us.

O Lord of Hosts, when we face choices and decisions, may Your presence be our guiding light. Surround us with godly counsel and remove from our lives those who would lead us astray. We pray for a strong and vibrant community of believers that encourages us to stay aligned with Your truth. Allow us to find strength in unity, holding one another accountable in our faith journeys.

As we stand in Your presence, we submit our will to You, just as that spirit stood before You. As said in the verse, when You asked, "Wherewith?" may we be able to answer with resolve that our strategy against temptation lies in the truth of Your Word, in prayerful communion, and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

May our hearts resonate with the promise of Your guidance, as we lean not on our own understanding, but acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting that You will direct our paths. We cling to Your assurance that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
