A Prayer for Divine Provision and Purpose in Our Labor
"And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in flotes by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem." - 2 Chronicles 2:16

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of reverence and gratitude. We thank You for the gift of Your Word, which serves as a guiding light in our lives. Today, we reflect upon the words found in 2 Chronicles 2:16: "And we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need: and we will bring it to thee in flotes by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem." This verse speaks not only of the physical labor and dedication of those who served you but also invites us to consider our own commitment to Your divine purpose in our lives.
Lord, just as the men of Tyre faithfully prepared the cedar wood for the Temple that Solomon was building, we too want to dedicate our resources, our time, and our skills to the work You have called us to do. We acknowledge that every task we undertake, whether great or small, can be an offering to You if we approach it with the right heart. May our hands be instruments of Your will, cut and shaped by Your grace to fulfill the needs of those around us.
We ask, Almighty God, that You bless the labor of our hands. Strengthen us in our daily tasks, so that we might be diligent and faithful in serving others, as the men of Tyre served Solomon. Let us yield ourselves, our talents, and our treasures in service to Your Kingdom work, recognizing that our efforts contribute to a greater plan You have in place. Help us to understand the significance of our labor, knowing that as we build up the community in Your name, we participate in the greater establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Heavenly Father, we also reflect on the journey of bringing the wood from Lebanon to Jerusalem. We realize that this journey symbolizes not only physical transportation but also a God-ordained purpose. We ask that You grant us, too, the perseverance and strength to carry out the missions You have set before each of us, no matter the distance or the difficulties we may face. Enable us to be faithful stewards of the resources You have provided, trusting that as we meet the needs of others, You will provide abundantly to us as well.
As the wood was brought by sea to Joppa and then transported to Jerusalem, we recognize the importance of collaboration and community in our endeavors. Father, we pray that You ignite a spirit of unity and teamwork among us as we strive for a common goal. Help us to work together, just as the men of Tyre and Solomon, blending our distinct gifts and talents into a harmonious effort. May we not rival or compete against one another, but rather support and uplift each other in love.
Lord, we seek to bring the finest of our resources to You, just as the people of Tyre did. We ask that You refine our hearts, enabling us to give our best—our time, our skills, our love—to the work of the ministry you have placed in our hearts. Teach us the art of generosity and gratitude in our labor, recognizing that everything we have comes from You.
Finally, we ask that You transform our labor into a testimony of Your goodness. Let our work echo across generations, a witness to Your faithfulness and provision. May those who see our efforts be drawn to You, finding inspiration in the way we serve others as an extension of Your love. As we cut our wood and bring it to the altars of our lives, help us to glorify You in every aspect of our labor.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
