"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Holy and righteous Father,

I come before Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, with reverence and with hope, thanking Thee for the living truth of Thy Word. Thou hast spoken plainly and powerfully, and I receive what Thou hast declared. For it is written, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Lord, I hold this Scripture before my heart, and I ask Thee to make it not only a verse I can recite, but a reality I can live.

Father, I confess that I cannot make myself new by my own strength, my own discipline, or my own good intentions. I cannot cleanse my own conscience, nor can I erase the stains of sin, regret, and failure through human effort. But I thank Thee that in Christ there is a work done that I could never do. Teach me what it means to be “in Christ.” Draw me close to Him in faith, in love, and in obedience. Let my life be anchored in His finished work and guided by His voice, so that I do not merely admire the promise of renewal, but dwell within it.

Lord, Thy Word says, “old things are passed away.” I bring my old things to Thee—old patterns that have ruled my decisions, old temptations that have whispered lies, old fears that have paralyzed my courage, old bitterness that has poisoned my thoughts, and old shame that has made me hide. I bring the old ways I have tried to protect myself: pride, self-reliance, blaming others, and the need to be seen as strong. In the light of Christ, I ask Thee to let these “old things” truly pass away. Break every chain that has felt permanent. Silence every accusation that tries to define me by what I once was. Where the enemy reminds me of my past, remind me of Thy promise, that “old things are passed away.”

And Father, I cling to the next word of hope: “behold.” Open my eyes to see what Thou hast done. Give me spiritual sight to behold, not with mere emotion, but with settled faith. When my feelings lag behind Thy truth, keep me steady in Thy Word. When I am tempted to measure myself by old failures, call me back to behold Thy mercy, Thy forgiveness, and Thy power to transform.

For Thy Word declares, “all things are become new.” Make this newness deep within me. Renew my mind, that my thoughts may become new—clean thoughts, humble thoughts, truthful thoughts, and thoughts that honor Thee. Renew my heart, that my desires may become new—desires for holiness, for prayer, for Thy Word, for integrity, and for compassion. Renew my speech, that my words may become new—words that build up, words that are seasoned with grace, words that speak truth without cruelty. Renew my habits, that my daily life may become new—new choices, new disciplines, new boundaries, and a new hunger for righteousness.

Lord, where I have carried old wounds, bring new healing. Where I have carried old anxieties, bring new peace. Where I have carried old anger, bring new gentleness. Where I have carried old envy, bring new contentment. Where I have carried old despair, bring new hope. Where I have carried old selfishness, bring new love. Let the fruit of this new life be evident—not for my glory, but that Christ may be magnified in me.

Father, I ask Thee also to help me walk as one who has truly been made new. Keep me from returning to the grave clothes of the past. Give me strength to turn away from sin quickly, to confess quickly, to forgive freely, and to obey Thee gladly. When I stumble, lift me by Thy grace and lead me again in the path of righteousness. Let my identity be settled in what Thou hast said: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”

Use me, Lord, as a witness of Thy renewing power. Let others see in my life that Thou art able to make all things new. Give me a spirit of humility, so I do not look down on anyone still bound in old things. Instead, make me patient, prayerful, and courageous to speak of Christ, the One who makes a new creature.

I thank Thee, Father, for Thy promise, for Thy presence, and for Thy transforming grace. I receive Thy Word with faith: “old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Seal this truth within me, and let my life testify that Jesus Christ is Lord.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
