Heavenly Father,

We come before Thee, filled with gratitude for Thy divine guidance and love. Today, we gather our thoughts and hearts to reflect on the profound wisdom in the words of Thy servant in 3 John 1:6, which saith, "Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well."

Lord, we acknowledge that "charity" is not merely an act of giving, but rather, it is a reflection of love—pure and unconditional. We are reminded that our actions within our church and our communities should reflect Your love. We beseech Thee, O God, instill within us a spirit of genuine charity that moves beyond mere words and manifests in tangible deeds. Let our hearts be open to recognize the needs of others and to respond with the love and kindness that You have shown us.

As we gather as one church body, may we bear witness to the love that compels us not just to seek our own comfort but to elevate those who seek solace, those in distress, and those in need of hope. Encourage us to build each other up, just as the early church did, amidst trials and tribulations. Let our commitment to charity echo through the walls of our homes and churches, shaping not only our lives but also the lives of those who are graced by our love and kindness.

All-knowing God, when we speak of bringing others forward in their journey, we recognize the weight of that responsibility. May we approach this journey deliberately and thoughtfully. Give us wisdom to support our fellow believers and to guide them in the ways of righteousness. Help us to encourage them to walk the path You have ordained for each of us.

We pray for discernment, Lord, to understand how to best assist these individuals on their journey. Grant us insight to recognize their struggles and aspirations, which will enable us to support them effectively and faithfully. In everything we do, may our actions be grounded in our faith and driven by our desire for Your glory.

We thank You for the examples You have set before us, for those faithful souls who have modeled charity in their lives and have continually borne witness to Your love. Enable us to learn from their lives and to emulate their deeds.

Lord, we remember those whom we encounter—those in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual support. May it be our purpose and delight to assist them on their journey, providing encouragement and assistance after a godly sort. Teach us to be hospitable and generous, caring not only about fulfilling our obligations but genuinely desiring their well-being.

Let our hearts overflow with the charity that browbeats selfishness and breaks down pride. Protect us from being judgmental, and help us cultivate a spirit of understanding and compassion, embracing every soul as we are embraced by You.

As we reflect on our personal journeys, may we remember to extend the hand of charity even to those who are far from us—by prayer, thoughtfulness, and, when able, by tangible gifts.

Help us to shine Your light of love into dark places, empowering us to stand in faith as we extend hope to the hopeless. In doing so, Lord, we are reminded of the great joy that comes from doing good and sharing in Your love. May our lives bear witness to the charity we exhibit before the world, and let it be a testament to who You are.
