A Prayer for Witnesses of His Glory
"And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly." - Acts 10:39-40

Heavenly Father,
We come before You humbly, filled with reverence and gratitude for the marvelous works You have done and continue to do in our lives. As we reflect upon Your Word, particularly Acts 10:39-40, we are reminded of the profound truth that You have revealed through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the role we play as witnesses of His life, death, and resurrection. "And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly."
Lord, we thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, who walked among us, healed the sick, raised the dead, and preached the good news of the Kingdom. As His followers, we are called to be witnesses of these extraordinary acts, to share not only the stories of His miracles but also the profound impact He has made on our lives. Help us, Father, to understand the full weight of the call to be witnesses. It is both a privilege and a responsibility that we cannot take lightly.
In a world that often feels dark and divided, we pray that Your light will shine through us. Grant us the courage to boldly proclaim the truth of the Gospel wherever we go, just as the apostles did. May we be steadfast in our faith, recalling all the wondrous things You have done, so that we might share with others the hope we have in Christ, who was "slain and hanged on a tree" for our transgressions. Let our testimonies resonate with the truth of His resurrection; that You, our God, raised Him up the third day, signifying victory over sin and death, a gift freely offered to all who believe.
Lord, we desire to emulate the early disciples who bore witness to Your love and grace. Instill in us the same passion and boldness that they exhibited in proclaiming Your Word. May we not shy away from difficult conversations or uncomfortable situations but instead embrace them, knowing that our witness could be the spark that ignites faith in someone else's heart. Show us how to engage with our communities, our families, and our friends in ways that reflect Your love and mercy.
We confess that at times we falter in our faith, allowing fear or doubt to cloud our witness. We ask for Your forgiveness when we have missed opportunities to share Your message. Strengthen our resolve, O God, and infuse our hearts with Your Spirit so that we may be filled with joy and confidence in our testimonies. Help us to remember that our strength comes from You and that we are never alone in our mission.
In our day-to-day lives, let us embody the essence of Christ. Empower us to walk in humility, to serve others selflessly, and to love without conditions, reflecting the very character of the One we serve. As His witnesses, may our actions speak louder than words, leading others to question what fuels our hope and joy. Help us live authentically as transformed individuals, so that when others look at us, they see Christ.
Finally, dear Lord, may our witness point others to the reality of Your resurrection. Many may know the story but do not grasp its significance. Use us to illuminate the path to salvation, offering encouragement and the invitation to experience a relationship with You. In our brokenness, let Your glory be revealed, so that all who encounter us may then seek to know the Savior we profess.
With each breath we take, may we be diligent witnesses, tirelessly proclaiming the truth of Your love until the day You return. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord and Savior, who was raised on the third day and lives forevermore. Amen.
