A Prayer of Gratitude and Faith in the Resurrection
"And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead: And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people." - Acts 13:29-31

O Loving and Gracious Father,
We bow our hearts before You today, giving You praise and glory for the miracle of resurrection and the message of hope exemplified in the sacrifice of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. In Acts 13:29-31, we reflect upon the profound truth that when they had fulfilled all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a sepulchre: 'But God raised him from the dead.' Lord, we stand in awe of Your plan that orchestrated the fulfillment of prophetic scripture, and we are overwhelmed by the depths of Your love for humanity.
Lord, we come before Your throne, recognizing that it was our sins that led Jesus to the tree—the place of suffering and shame. We confess to You our shortcomings, our doubts, and the moments we have walked away from Your light. Thank You for the reminder that despite our imperfections, You still chose to send Your Son. As we consider the cost of our salvation, may we live in gratitude every day for the grace we have received.
In our finite understanding, we are often troubled by the darkness we see in the world around us—pain, suffering, and despair. Yet, even as we witness these stark realities, let us cling to the promise of Acts 13:30: 'But God raised him from the dead.' May we remember that, like Your Son, there is always a resurrection after the crucible; there are new beginnings after endings. Teach us to see beyond our present sufferings to the glory that awaits us and remind us that in the face of adversity, we can still proclaim hope and renewal through Christ.
Father, Your Word tells us that Jesus was 'seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem.' We celebrate the reality of the resurrection and the many witnesses who testified to the reality of the risen Christ. Their encounters filled them with the courage of faith and the vigor of hope. May we, too, be witnesses of Your love and grace in our lives. Empower us, Lord, to be ambassadors of this good news in our communities and across the world. We ask that our testimonies reflect the power of Your resurrection, inspiring others to seek You and find life in Your name.
Help us to mirror the faith and determination of those early witnesses. As they boldly testified to Your resurrection, let our lives be examples of faith in action. Ignite a passion within us to share the message of salvation, just as they did, so that we may be instruments of Your peace and love in a world desperate for hope. Remind us that sharing our faith is not merely a task, but our calling and purpose.
Almighty God, grant us strength in our weaknesses and hope in our despair. As we journey through life, may we always retain the essence of resurrection—facing trials with an unfaltering spirit and a heart full of faith. Teach us to embrace each day as an opportunity to act as Your witnesses, as we reflect on the truth of our Savior who lives and reigns forevermore.
In closing, we thank You, Father, for the gift of Your Son and the assurance that 'He was seen many days of them which came up with him.' Let this assurance lead us to worship, praise, and a deeper relationship with You. May we fully understand the significance of what You have done for us, so that our own lives may also testify to Your love.
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray,
Amen.
