A Prayer for Boldness and Unity in the Face of Adversity
"¶ But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people." - Acts 17:5

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and strength in the midst of our trials. As we reflect on Acts 17:5, we are reminded of the turmoil and challenges that Your faithful servants faced when they stood up for the Gospel. "But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people." Lord, this verse echoes across the ages and reminds us that opposition often arises when Your truth breaks into hearts and communities.
We ask You today for courage, Lord, as we endeavor to share Your message in a world that is often hostile to Your ways. Just as the early believers faced anger and persecution for their faith, we too live in a culture that might not always welcome our beliefs. Grant us the boldness to stand firm in our convictions, to speak the truth in love, and to be steadfast witnesses of Your mercy and grace. May we, too, gather in faith and refuse to be intimidated by those who oppose us, choosing instead to walk in unity and with resolute hearts.
Lord, we recognize that envy can breed anger and division among us. Help us to guard our hearts against jealousy and strife, and to instead foster an environment of love and respect within our communities. Teach us to rejoice in the successes of others, promoting a spirit of brotherhood that is connected through Christ. We pray for those who may harbor bitterness or resentment, that they might experience the healing power of Your presence.
As the early Church faced assaults and threats from those driven by envy, we know that today’s believers can also find themselves under pressure from a world that seeks to dismiss or challenge our faith. We seek refuge in you, O Lord. Shelter us under Your wings and fortify our spirits against the uproar that surrounds us. Let us be like Jason, who opened his home to fellow believers, providing a safe haven amidst the chaos. Help us create sanctuaries of faith and love where Your people can gather in fellowship, sharing strength and encouragement.
We also lift up those who oppose us, as You have called us to love our enemies. We pray for their hearts, dear God. Let them see the light of Christ and be transformed. May their eyes be opened to the truth of Your Gospel, and may they find the hope and salvation that comes through faith in Jesus.
In these challenging moments, Lord, remind us that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Equip us with Your armor—the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit. May we stand with confidence against the fiery darts of the enemy, knowing that You fight our battles.
As we seek to witness Your love, let us not forget to pray for one another, encouraging each other as we face opposition. May we uplift the downtrodden, support the weary, and restore the broken. We ask for a spirit of unity among believers, that we may stand as one body, united by the love of Christ, even amid disagreements and trials.
Father, we thank You for being our refuge in times of need, our guide in times of confusion, and our strength when we feel weak. We place our trust in You, knowing that it is not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit that we overcome the challenges before us.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, trusting in Your divine purpose and unfailing love. Amen.
