O Lord God of Heaven and Earth,

As I bow before You in humble adoration, I am reminded of the words documented in Acts 22:20, where it is written, “And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.” My heart aches as I reflect upon the severe cost of faith as displayed by Stephen, a faithful servant who embodied courage, steadfastness, and unwavering devotion to Your truth even in the face of ultimate sacrifice.

Father, I come to You with a heart heavy, burdened by the injustices and persecutions faced by countless believers around the world who stand up for Your name. Just as Paul stood by, consented and held the garments of those who killed Stephen, I realize that so often, I have observed wrongdoings without stepping in with righteousness. Forgive me, Father, for my complacency and apathy. Teach me, Lord, to be a vessel of Your love and truth in the world, rising against the tide of injustice.

Lord, I seek strength and compassion, to stand firm in my faith like Stephen, who in his last moments prayed for those who sought his life, saying, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.” Give me the heart to forgive those who wrong me and to pray for those who persecute me, just as he did. Enable me to reflect Your grace and mercy even when it is most difficult, so that through my actions, mercy might be multiplied.

I lift up all Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs, particularly those in regions where their faith can lead to severe consequences. Amplify their voices, O Lord, and envelop them in Your love. Grant them the courage to stand firm, support them when they feel weak, and remind them of the powerful promise of salvation through Christ. As Stephen’s life was a beacon of hope and faithfulness, may their lives reflect the light of Your gospel through their absence of fear.

Heavenly Father, as I consider Stephen's faith amidst persecution, stir within me a yearning to embody that same unwavering spirit. Help me to boldly testify to the truth of Your Word, to share the gospel passionately, and to impact the lives of those around me for Your glory. May my life not be marked by silence, but rather by a profound commitment to lift up Your name, even if that means facing opposition. Help me to always choose You, Lord, regardless of the cost.

I pray for those who may find their lives entwined in darkness, perhaps standing alongside a crowd that casts stones instead of sowing seeds of love and compassion. May Your Holy Spirit awaken hearts to the urgency of transformation. Just as You reached into the life of Paul, who once stood approvingly at the death of Stephen, reach into those lives entangled in violence and hate. Reveal Yourself to them in dreams, visions, or acts of kindness; change their hearts from stone to flesh, leading them to realize the dire need for repentance and the hope offered in Jesus Christ.

Lord, I thank You for the gift of faith and the hope we have in Christ. With a heart of gratitude, I now commit my life to grow in courage, compassion, and truth. Help me to rise for Your name, to stand in solidarity with the persecuted, and to extend love to my persecutors. Enable me, Lord, to surrender my fears to You and embrace a life of fearless faith. In the name of Jesus Christ, who stands with the persecuted and grants everlasting hope. Amen.
