A Prayer for Integrity and Divine Favor
"It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him." - Daniel 6:1-4

O Gracious and Sovereign Lord,
As I come before Thee, I am reminded of Thy servant Daniel, whose life shines as a beacon of integrity in the midst of a corrupt kingdom. In Daniel 6:1-4, we see how it pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty princes, and of these, three presidents were appointed, with Daniel being the first; his excellent spirit making him stand out for leadership. Lord, I pray that the same excellent spirit may dwell in me. May I demonstrate wisdom and discernment in all my affairs, reflecting Thy righteousness in every decision I make.
Father, just as Daniel was preferred and favored because of the character that you bestowed upon him, I seek Thy favor. Grant me a heart that is pure and a spirit that is blameless. When others observe my actions, let them see You in me, just as they recognized the extraordinary spirit in Daniel. Help me to embrace excellence not for my glory, but to uplift and bring honor to Your name.
Lord, as I acknowledge the dynamics of leadership and authority illustrated in this passage, I ask that you guide my heart in understanding leadership as a servant role. Help me to lead with humility and a desire to serve others, rather than to seek power for myself. May those I lead be inspired by my integrity and commitment to truth, as Daniel inspired those around him.
I pray, O Lord, for protection against the envy and scheming of others, as we see the princes sought to find occasion against Daniel. Sometimes it feels as though the more we strive for righteousness, the more opposition we face. Protect me from false accusations, gossip, and malice aimed to undermine my character. Remind me that I am ultimately accountable to You for my actions, and strengthen my resolve to keep my focus on serving You with sincerity and faithfulness.
Help me to surround myself with people who share my values, and give me discernment to recognize those who do not wish to encourage my integrity. May I find friends and colleagues who honor You and inspire faithfulness and truth.
In times of trial and when faced with adversity, Lord, may I respond with Daniel’s spirit. Help me to remain resolute in my convictions, steadfast in my faith. As Daniel endured the scrutiny of others, help me to live above reproach, finding strength not in myself but in You. Renew my spirit daily, and help me be vigilant in my prayer life, as Daniel was known for his consistent commitment to talking with You.
Lord, I recognize that the excellent spirit that caused Daniel to be preferred is a reflection of the grace of God. I plead for that grace in my own life. Fill me, O Lord, with Your Holy Spirit; let Your fruit abound in my character. May love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control flourish in my life, attracting those around me not to me, but to You.
As I pursue righteousness, let me not grow weary or discouraged in doing good. Help me to believe that in due season, I shall reap if I do not faint. Teach me to hold closely to the truth that while I may encounter challenges, my identity and purpose are found in You, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
In closing, I ask for wisdom, strength, and protection as I endeavor to walk in integrity, just as Your servant Daniel did. May my life testify to the greatness of Your power and love, bringing others to seek after You.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Daniel 6:1-4 - "It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom 120 satraps, to be throughout the whole kingdom; and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss. Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him."
