A Prayer for Righteousness Amidst Injustice
"¶ Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:" - Ecclesiastes 8:12

O Lord God Almighty,
We come before You today with hearts full of reverence and humility, acknowledging Your supreme authority over all creation. We are reminded of the words from Ecclesiastes 8:12, 'Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him.' In the complexities of our world, where we witness the apparent prosperity of the wicked, help us to find comfort and assurance in Your eternal truths.
Heavenly Father, we live in times where injustice seems to prevail, where those who commit wrong do so without consequence, and their lives appear to flourish while the righteous face trials and tribulations. Yet, Your Word reminds us that this is but a fleeting reality. Guide us in believing that the apparent success of the unrighteous is temporary and that real peace and fulfillment belong to those who walk in reverence of You. Help us to remember that You are a God of justice, and though it may seem that the wicked are thriving, we know that their time is limited.
Lord, we seek to fear You as Scripture instructs. May our hearts be loyal to You, and may we pursue righteousness with unyielding zeal. Teach us what it means to fear You, to hold You in the highest esteem, and to walk humbly before You. Instill within us a deep desire to live our lives in accordance with Your will—a will that values truth and mercy, humility and justice.
As we observe those who indulge in sin, who may seem to be enriched by their actions, allow our hearts to remain steadfast and unshaken. Let us not be swayed by the allure of sin or the short-lived pleasures it may offer. Instead, may we be consumed with the desire to honor You in our thoughts, words, and actions. Father, we understand that prolonged days in the lives of sinners do not equate to Your blessing. Rather, it is an opportunity for them to repent, to turn away from their iniquities, and to seek Your forgiveness.
Help us be wise in our understanding, Lord, to discern the difference between worldly success and true righteousness. May our lives reflect the humility of heart that fears You, so that in all our endeavors, we may bring glory to Your name. And as we navigate our personal struggles and witness the struggles of those around us, may we be vessels of Your love—encouraging and uplifting those who are weary and in need of hope.
What joy it brings us to rest in Your promise! "Yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God." This truth reassures our souls amidst chaos. We stand assured today that You are a righteous judge, that Your servants will be ultimately rewarded, and that the righteous will prevail. Therefore, we reject the despair that stems from comparing our lives with those that seem to be successful in wickedness. Instead, establish our hearts in hope, knowing that our day of reward awaits.
Gracious Lord, embolden us to be ambassadors of Your Kingdom, illuminating the path of righteousness in a world straying further into darkness. Help us to live boldly for You, even when it feels like we are in a minority. May our lives be testimonies of Your goodness, mercy, and loving-kindness, drawing others to seek the peace that comes only from walking in reverence of You.
In conclusion, we commit this prayer before You, trusting in Your divine plan. We rest in the assurance that in the end, it shall indeed be well with them that fear God. Unite our hearts in this pursuit, encourage our spirits, and fill us with Your hope as we seek to honor You.
In Jesus' name, we pray,
Amen.
