A Prayer of Unity and Hope in Christ
"Therefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." - Ephesians 2:11-22

Eternal God,
As we gather before You in this moment of prayer, we humbly come to reflect on the profound truth found in Ephesians 2:11-22. It is here, in these sacred words, that we discover the stark contrast between our former state and the glorious reality You have ushered us into through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We acknowledge our past, where once we were distant and alien to the promises You made, living without hope and without You in this world.
We remember the times when we walked in darkness, as Gentiles, estranged from the commonwealth of Israel, called uncircumcised, and feeling the weight of separation. Lord, forgive us for any arrogance we may have harbored in our hearts, for we know that we were once lost, devoid of the covenant and far from the family of faith. It is by Your grace alone that we have been brought near; as it says, "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." What an incredible transformation has taken place!
God of mercy, we praise You for the blood of Christ that has reconciled us to You and to one another. We express our deep gratitude that through Him we find our true peace, for He is our peace. You have torn down the wall of enmity that divided us, abolishing the strife that kept us at odds. Help us to remember this powerful truth: that in Your kingdom, we are all one.
As we reflect on the words that say You have made "of twain one new man, so making peace," we ask for the grace to embody this peace in our lives. May our hearts be mended in unity, free from prejudice and division. Let us become vessels of Your peace, actively seeking reconciliation and understanding in a world that often thrives on discord and division. The world may know us by our labels and divisions, but help us to be known for our love, kindness, and for being representatives of Your kingdom.
Father, we surrender our differences to You, acknowledging that we come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. May we embrace one another as fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. We are reminded that we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ as our chief cornerstone. What an honor it is to be part of such an incredible building, fitly framed together, growing into a holy temple in the Lord!
Oh Lord, we long to be the habitation of God through the Spirit. We invite Your presence into our hearts, our communities, and our churches. Make us a reflection of Your love and unity so that the world may see Your glory through us. Teach us to work together, united in purpose, bearing one another's burdens, and celebrating one another's joys. In doing so, we bear witness to the reconciliation and hope that we have in You.
As we close this prayer, we commit our lives to spreading the good news of your love and grace. Let us not hold onto bitterness or resentment but instead extend the same love and mercy that You have poured out upon us. May we always remember where we came from and the tremendous price that was paid for our redemption. Let our lives shine brightly, drawing others to Your light, so that they too may find their place in Your loving embrace.
In the name of Jesus, we pray with thankful hearts, counting our blessings and the gift of unity. Amen.

Ephesians 2:11-22 - "Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
