Heavenly Father,

We come before Your majestic presence with hearts full of gratitude and reverence for Your word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. As we meditate on the intricate details of the altar of incense mentioned in Exodus 37:25, "And he made the incense altar of shittim wood: the length of it was a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit; it was foursquare; and two cubits was the height of it; the horns thereof were of the same," we are reminded of the sacredness and the purpose of worship.

Lord, we understand that the altar of incense, crafted with precision and care, represents a profound connection between humanity and divinity. Just as this altar was made from shittim wood, symbolizing strength and durability, may our prayers also be strong and steadfast. Let our hearts be pure as we come to You in worship, recognizing that it is by Your grace that we are made worthy to approach Your throne.

Father, the four square shape of the altar serves as a reminder of Your everlasting nature – the four corners of the earth belong to You, and Your love embraces all nations. We pray that our worship will not be limited by borders or differences but will rise as a sweet fragrance to You from every corner of the world. May our hearts break for those who do not yet know You, and may our prayers intercede for them, that they may also experience the joy of being in Your presence.

As we ponder the height of this altar, two cubits tall, we recognize that our prayers should also be elevated. Help us, Lord, to rise above our circumstances and lift our eyes towards You, trusting that You hear us from the high places. Teach us to pray boldly, to reach for the heavens with our requests and intercessions, knowing that You are capable of doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

We also take note of the horns of the altar, Lord. They were made of the same wood as the altar itself, signifying strength and support. In Your mercy, You have provided us with a refuge in times of despair; let us cling to the horn of our salvation, knowing that You are our strong tower. May Your strength sustain us through trials, reminding us that no matter how high our burdens rise, we can run to You for comfort and help.

Lord, as we reflect on the significance of the incense that was offered upon this altar, we pray that our lives would become a living incense unto You. May our thoughts, words, and actions rise like the sweet-smelling aroma of incense, pleasing in Your sight. Teach us to engage in acts of love and compassion that reflect Your grace and mercy. Let us be devoted to prayer, bringing before You the needs of our hearts and those around us.

We acknowledge, Father, that without the work of Christ, our prayers would be insufficient. Help us to always remember the sacrifice He made for us, which opens the way for us to approach You. May our worship and prayers always be expressed in the light of His goodness and grace, understanding that it is only through Him that we find access to Your eternal presence.

In conclusion, dear Lord, we dedicate ourselves to prayer; let us not forget the significance of our supplication as we reflect on the altar of incense.
