A Prayer for Restoration and Deliverance

"¶ Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;" - Ezekiel 23:22

"¶ Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;" - Ezekiel 23:{verse.verse_number}

O Lord, our God, the Creator of heaven and earth, we come before You today with a heart full of reverence and humility, reflecting upon the words of Ezekiel 23:22, which remind us of our waywardness and the consequences of our choices. As we read, "Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;" we are struck with a profound sense of your justice and mercy, Lord.

Lord, as we contemplate these verses, we recognize Aholibah as a representation of our own struggles. Like her, we have turned our hearts away from You, chasing after the allurements of the world and replacing our devotion to You with the false promises of earthly lovers. Forgive us, O God, for the times we have sought satisfaction in things that ultimately lead us away from Your presence. We confess that in our pursuit of relationships, fame, wealth, status, and fleeting pleasures, we have allowed our minds to become alienated from Your perfect will and purpose for our lives.

Great is Your mercy, Lord, and we thank You for Your unending patience with us. As we stand before You today, we pray for a deep-seated longing for You to be reignited in our hearts. Draw us back to the love we once had for You, to a place of devotion, respect, and submission. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to see the dangers of becoming entangled with the lovers of this world that seek to alienate us from Your truth.

Lord, You have declared that You will raise up those whose affections we have pursued against us. In our lives, we know there are consequences for our choices, and we may face trials and tribulations as a result of our alienation from You. Yet, we also cling to the hope that You are our Redeemer and Restorer. In times of struggle, may our faith grow stronger as we turn to You seeking guidance, strength, and deliverance. Help us to recognize the lessons You are teaching us in our hardships, and grant us the wisdom to make godly decisions moving forward.

Heavenly Father, we ask for Your protection against the influences that seek to draw us away from Your love. Surround us with Your divine presence, and keep us from the snares of temptation. Help us to discern what is true and what is false, enabling us to stand firm in Your Word. May we be fortified in spirit and renew our commitment to following the path that leads to life and peace.

In moments when we feel overwhelmed by the circumstances that surround us, remind us of Your promise to be with us even in adversity. As those who we may have once sought after come against us, may we find refuge in Your arms. May our dry, weary hearts be revived and nourished by Your Spirit, O Lord. Let Your love be the anchor that holds us steady amidst life's storms.

We also intercede on behalf of those who have wandered away from You, just as Aholibah did. Bring them back into Your fold, Lord, through Your loving kindness and unrelenting grace. Use us as instruments of Your peace, to reach those who are lost and to share the hope that is found only in You.

Finally, Lord, may we always remember to offer up our prayers of thanksgiving, for You are eternally faithful. May we be steadfast in faith, always trusting in Your perfect timing and plans for our lives. Help us to emerge from every trial purified and strengthened, for Your glory. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
