A Prayer for Justice and Restoration
"And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;" - Ezekiel 25:3

Heavenly Father,
We come before You in reverent awe of Your power and majesty, proclaiming Your sovereignty over all creation. Today, we reflect upon the words spoken in Ezekiel 25:3 – "And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity." Lord, these words remind us of the seriousness of our actions and the consequences that follow those who oppose Your will.
In this prayer, we lift our hearts to You, seeking wisdom, understanding, and the strength to stand against the powers that wish to undermine Your sanctuary and the sanctity of Your word. We know, Lord, that You are a God of justice; therefore, we ask that You impart Your justice upon those who mock and ridicule what is holy.
Father, just as the Ammonites rejoiced over the tragedy that befell Judah, we see similar attitudes in our world today. Mockery and scorn towards Your people can be found in the institutions of society, in art, in politics, and even among families. We recognize that just like the Ammonites, many still celebrate the downfall of righteousness and hope. Yet, we ask that their cries of laughter would turn into cries of repentance, and that they would come to know Your truth and grace.
Loving God, we pray for those who are in desolation today, those who feel trapped in their own circumstances. We lift up those who suffer injustice, those who are marginalized, and those who feel abandoned. May they know that though the world might seem against them, You are a refuge in their times of struggle. Restore them, O Lord, and remind them that they are never alone.
As we reflect on the captivity of Judah, we remember how easily we can become captives to our circumstances—captives of fear, doubt, addiction, and despair. Lord, we ask You to break the chains that bind us and lead us into the promise of freedom through faith in Christ. Teach us to take our gaze off the trials and to place our trust solely in Your unfailing love and protection. Equip us to rise up as warriors in prayer, standing firmly against all that opposes Your plans for our lives.
O God of Restoration, we seek not only personal healing but also healing for our communities and our nations. Sweep through our lands and sovereignly bring those who oppose justice to a place of humility. Style their hearts to recognize their need for You, to repent and turn from their evil ways so they may align with Your divine plan.
We also ask for courage. That we might have the boldness to speak on behalf of the oppressed and to be Your voice in a world that desperately needs hope and truth. Strengthen us for the battles we face and help us to love those who oppose us, even as we stand firm against wrongdoing.
Finally, Lord, let our lives reflect Your glory. As we dwell in Your sanctuary, may we be emboldened to declare Your truths, just as You commanded Ezekiel to speak to the nations. Empower us with Your Spirit to declare the power of Your word over all that opposes Your church, Your people, and Your Kingdom.
We trust You, O Lord, to act justly and restore what has been lost or broken. We await the day when justice will reign and every knee will bow to Your name. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
