A Prayer for Abundant Offerings and Spiritual Growth
"And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah." - Ezekiel 46:7

O Sovereign Lord,
We come before You in reverence and awe, acknowledging Your greatness and mercy. As we reflect upon Your words in Ezekiel 46:7, which states, "And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah," we are reminded of the importance of offerings in our worship and devotion to You.
Lord, we know that our offerings are not merely the physical gifts we bring, but rather the reflections of our hearts, our gratitude, and our deepened relationship with You. Help us to understand the significance of the ephah and the hin—the measures of our commitment to provide for Your house and to express our love through sacrificial giving. Inspire our hearts to seek out ways to honor You with the first fruits of our labor, just as those of old prepared their meat offerings.
As we kneel in prayer, we ask for the spirit of generosity to be poured out upon us. Make us mindful that our resources—whether they be time, talents, or treasures—are gifts from Your hands. Just as oil represents anointing and abundance, let our actions flow with the richness of Your blessings. May our acts of service reflect the nourishment of our fellowship with Christ, who is the bread of life.
Father, train our hearts to see our offerings as acts of faith, trusting in Your provision for our needs and the needs of those around us. Help us to give freely, not counting the cost, as we recognize the ultimate sacrifice made for us on the cross. May we not shy away from giving out of fear or hesitation, but rather let our hands be strengthened by Your spirit—knowing that in giving we receive the promise of fulfillment in You.
Lord, as we gather in worship, let our hearts be united in purpose and our voices lifted in praise. Teach us to prepare our offerings with sincerity and joy, reflecting the essence of Your goodness in our contributions. Just like the careful preparation of the meat offering, may we offer our lives as living sacrifices, wholly acceptable unto You.
In our desire to please You, we pray for the grace to evaluate the quality of what we bring before You. Show us, Lord, if what we offer may be lacking in devotion or motive. Strip us of any false pretenses or half-hearted giving. Instead, give us the courage to approach Your throne of grace with humility and surrender, ready to lay down our desires and ambitions in exchange for Your will.
We also pray that as we offer our gifts to You, we may become channels of Your love and provision for others. Let our generosity flow not only into this house of worship but also into our communities and beyond. May our contributions enable ministries to thrive, spread the Gospel, and provide for the needy. Help us to understand that every kindness, every act of service, is part of our offering to You and a means of extending Your love to the world.
Lord, as we continue to walk with You, deepen our understanding of what it means to offer ourselves daily—to prepare our hearts, lives, and resources as living and holy sacrifices. Let us not grow weary in well-doing, but refresh us in Your presence and let Your joy be our strength. We trust that in our obedience and faithfulness, You will be glorified, and we will experience the fullness of life in Christ.
In Jesus’ holy name, we pray, Amen.
