A Prayer for Perseverance in Good Works
"Galatians 6:9-10: 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." - Galatians 6:9-10

Heavenly Father,
I come before You in humility and reverence, acknowledging that You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who knows our hearts and understands our struggles. Lord, as I meditate on Your Word, particularly Galatians 6:9-10, I am reminded of the importance of steadfastness in doing good. Your scripture reminds me, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Oh Lord, in this world filled with challenges and adversities, it is so easy to grow weary and lose heart. Life’s trials sometimes make our journey seem burdensome, and I confess that there are moments when I feel like giving up on the work that You have called me to do. I ask for Your forgiveness for those times when I have allowed discouragement to overshadow my faith and commitment to act justly and to love mercy. Help me, Father, to remember that Your promise is true; in the due season, I will reap if I do not faint.
Sustain me with Your strength and grace. Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit, that I may continue to act in love and kindness, regardless of how I feel or the circumstances around me. Teach me to persevere in well doing, even when the results of my labor are not immediately visible. Even when it feels like I am sowing seeds in barren ground, I trust in Your perfect timing and Your divine plan for my life and the lives of those around me.
Lord, I also reflect on the second part of this exhortation: "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Help me to recognize and seize every opportunity You place in my path. Remind me that the call to do good extends to everyone, but especially to those who share in the faith with me. Help me to love my brothers and sisters in Christ genuinely and to support them with acts of kindness, encouragement, and service. Let my heart be open and my hands be willing to serve the needs of others, particularly those who walk alongside me in faith.
Father, I pray that You grant me a spirit of generosity and compassion. Instill in my heart a desire to uplift those around me, to be an instrument of Your peace, and a witness of Your love. Whether it be through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply being present for someone in need, remind me that every act of kindness matters in Your Kingdom. May I always strive to reflect Your light to the world, knowing that You see and honor every small effort that I make.
Help me to carry the burdens of others, to lift others when they are down, and to rejoice with those who rejoice, as You call us to do. Grant me the discernment to know when someone is in need of assistance and the willingness to step beyond my comfort zone to express Your love.
Lord, I pray for perseverance not only for myself but for my community of faith. Strengthen us, O God, as we strive together in our mission to spread Your gospel and to be Your hands and feet in this world. May we never grow weary of doing good, but instead find joy in serving one another and glorifying Your name in all that we do.
Thank You, Lord, for the assurance that in due season, the fruit of our labor will come forth. I place my trust in You, knowing that Your promises are true. I pray all these things in Jesus’ most holy and precious name.
Amen.
