A Prayer for Remembrance and Deliverance
"But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:" - Genesis 40:14

O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, the One who knows the depths of our hearts and the intricate details of our lives, I come to You today with a humble heart, seeking Your presence and guidance. I echo the heartfelt plea of Joseph, who, in the depths of his affliction, asked, "But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house" (Genesis 40:14, KJV).
Lord, as I reflect on this powerful verse, I realize how often we find ourselves in places of despair and loneliness, waiting for a glimmer of hope. Joseph, a man of integrity, wisdom, and faith, found himself imprisoned for doing what was right. Despite the injustice he faced, he remained steadfast in his trust in You. I ask that You help me to cultivate the same resilience and faithfulness in my own challenges. Let me learn from Joseph’s example, for it was his unwavering spirit that ultimately led to his divine purpose being fulfilled.
Father, You are the God of the impossible, and I ask that You intervene in the situations we find ourselves entangled in. Like Joseph, we often see the delays, the darkness, and the hopelessness instead of Your plan that is already unfolding behind the scenes. In my moments of waiting, may I learn to seek Your face earnestly, to cry out to You, and to trust in Your timing. Remind me that even when it seems bleak, You are working all things together for the good of those who love You.
Lord, I lift up before You those like Joseph, imprisoned by circumstances, regrets, or the weight of their past. Show us Your kindness and mercy. When we find ourselves in the grip of despair, let us not lose hope. Holy Spirit, I pray that You remind us to reach out to fellow believers and to be a source of comfort and encouragement to each other, just as Joseph did for the chief butler. Let our words and deeds reflect Your love, and may we always be willing to help others in their time of need, as we seek help and remembrance in our own.
God, I also pray for those in positions of power, like Pharaoh, to be open to Your guidance and purpose. Help them to be instruments of Your will, to show kindness and compassion to the unjustly imprisoned, and to make decisions that reflect justice and righteousness. Teach us to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves, always remembering that we are all deserving of Your grace and mercy. May we seek to build bridges, open doors, and create opportunities for those in captivity, both physically and spiritually.
As I reflect further upon Joseph’s request, I am reminded that our ultimate rescue comes not from our own strength but from Your divine intervention. Grant me the courage to continue to ask for help when needed, to believe that You will position people in my life who will remember me in times of need. I pray that the light of Your presence shines through me so that others may see You in the way I navigate through my struggles.
Help me to be like Joseph, who did not just wallow in despair but used his time in that dark place to seek You and to encourage others. Lord, as I find myself facing my own 'prisons', may I always look upwards, anticipating Your will to unfold. I pray for the strength to wait patiently on You, knowing that in faith, I can move mountains and unlock doors that seem forever closed.
In Jesus’ name, I submit this prayer, trusting in Your divine timing and unconditional love. Amen.
