A Prayer for Divine Favor and Wisdom
"¶ And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants." - Genesis 41:37

O Eternal Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth,
In this sacred moment, we turn our hearts and minds towards You, acknowledging Your sovereignty over all that exists. We come before You with an attitude of humility and gratitude, just as Pharaoh recognized the wisdom bestowed upon Joseph in the land of Egypt. You have gifted us with countless blessings, and for this, we lift our voices in praise. Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts beyond our understanding, as we see in Genesis 41:37, where it is written, "And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants."
Lord, as we reflect on this profound encounter between Joseph and Pharaoh, we recognize the importance of discernment and understanding in leadership and decision-making. We implore You to imbue our hearts with the wisdom that comes from above, equal to that which guided Pharaoh in seeing the goodness in Joseph's counsel. Just like Pharaoh, may we be surrounded by individuals who are not only competent but also recognize and affirm the good that You are doing in our lives and in our communities.
Father, we ask for Your divine favor upon us, the way it was shown to Joseph. As he interpreted dreams and provided solid solutions in a time of uncertainty and need, we too seek to be instruments of peace and wisdom amidst the chaos of our world. Grant us the ability to discern the signs of the times, to seek Your will in every situation we face. Help us to trust in Your timing and to understand that what seems impossible in our eyes may be the very plan You have for us.
We lay before You our ambitions; may they align with Your purpose for our lives. Just as Pharaoh’s servants recognized the significance of Joseph’s insight, help those who lead among us—be it in our families, workplaces, or governments—to open their hearts to divine guidance. May they be blessed with clarity, courage, and the understanding needed to lead justly and rightly.
Lord, we earnestly pray for unity among Your people. Just as Pharaoh was united with his servants in recognizing the importance of Joseph's revelations, may we, too, be united under the banner of Your love and understanding. Help us to be supportive of one another, to recognize the strengths of those around us, and to applaud the good that comes forth from our collective efforts.
We ask for hearts that are receptive to the good that lives amongst us. May we not turn a blind eye to Your workings, but actively seek to highlight and uplift those who are a reflection of Your goodness. Engender within us a spirit of encouragement so that we can be vessels who affirm the worthy endeavors of others, just as Pharaoh did with Joseph, inspiring courage and renewal in their hearts.
O Lord, as we navigate our daily lives, let us not forget that our actions reflect our faith. May our choices lead to outcomes that are pleasing in Your sight and beneficial to those around us. In a world that often embodies strife and discord, make us peacemakers and harbingers of hope. Let the goodness that You inspire in our hearts shine forth, illuminating the paths of those who are lost.
We surrender our plans and aspirations to You. Guide us in our decisions, that they too may be good in the eyes of those we encounter. In all that we do, may we seek to glorify Your name, allowing our lives to be a living testament to Your greatness and love.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray,
Amen.
