Heavenly Father,

We are reminded of the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 42:23, where it is written: "And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter." Lord, just as Joseph had the ability to understand his brothers without their knowledge, we ask You to grant us the ability to comprehend those around us. Help us to see beyond mere words and actions, to understand the intentions and feelings that lie within the hearts of others. Illuminate our minds so that we may perceive the deeper truths in our interactions, much like Joseph who could interpret the silent cries of his brothers’ guilt and fear.
