A Prayer of Faith and Protection Inspired by Hebrews 11:23

"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment." - Hebrews 11:23

"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment." - Hebrews 11:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You this day with hearts full of reverence and gratitude for the faithfulness that You extend to us day by day. We are reminded of the profound faith exhibited by Moses’ parents, who, by faith, chose to hide their son for three months. As we reflect on Hebrews 11:23, ‘By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment,’ we find ourselves drawn into the depths of their courageous hearts, a faith that defied the decrees of a mighty king.

Lord, we thank You for the example set before us by Amram and Jochebed, Moses’ parents. In a time of fear and uncertainty, they chose to look beyond the peril of their surroundings and to see the potential that You had placed in their son. May we, too, develop eyes that see the good in our children, families, and the world around us. Help us to recognize the beauty and purpose that You have instilled in each life we encounter, including our own.

Oh Lord, fill us with the spirit of faith that transcends fear. In a world that often imposes its laws and commands in opposition to Your ways, may we, like Moses’ parents, be bold in our convictions. Let us be not afraid of worldly commands that contradict Your calling on our lives. Give us the courage to stand firm, to protect what is precious and innocent, and to trust wholeheartedly in Your divine protection and providence.

As we meditate on the immense challenge faced by Moses’ parents, we pray for all those who are in positions of vulnerability today. We especially think of parents who seek to protect their children in society that may not uphold their values. Gift them with wisdom, just like You did with Amram and Jochebed, so they may know how to nurture their children amidst adversity. May they find solace and strength in You, believing that nothing is impossible with You by their side.

Father, bless the children in our midst—the ones who are born amid challenges, injustices, and societal pressures. Just as Moses was a 'proper child,' we pray that each child be recognized for their unique gifts and talents. May their environment nurture and raise them to fulfill the plans You have set before them. Keep them safe from harm, protect their hearts from fear, and guide them along the path of righteousness.

As we recall the promise of protection found in Your word, remind us of our role as guardians—both spiritual and physical—to watch over those who are entrusted to us. Instill in us a love that mirrors Your own—a fierce, unshakeable love that fights against oppression and strives for justice. In our interactions with others, may we sow seeds of kindness, understanding, and grace.

Lord, help us to cultivate a spirit of unwavering faith in our lives. Just as Jochebed’s faith was unyielding in the face of Pharaoh’s command, help us to trust in Your plan, even when our circumstances feel bleak. Allow our faith to be our anchor when storms rage and our foundation when worry and doubt attempt to take hold.

In our prayers each day, let us seek both Your guidance and protection. May we always be mindful of our calling to be a light in the darkness. Bolster our spirits and grant us patience as we navigate the complexities of life. Help us echo the faith of Moses’ parents as we trust in Your perfect timing, knowing that even in the slow, sometimes painful processes of birthing potential, You are working all things for good.

In Your holy name, we pray.

Amen.
