A Prayer for Divine Protection Against Adversity
"Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand:" - Jeremiah 11:21

O Most High and Eternal God,
I come before You with humility and reverence, acknowledging Your omnipotence and sovereignty over all creation. You are the Almighty, who sees and knows all things, and I stand here with a heart full of gratitude for Your unfailing love and grace poured out upon me. I thank You for the blessings You have bestowed upon my life, for the protection You have granted in times of trouble, and for the guidance that Your Holy Spirit provides.
As I ponder Your words in Jeremiah 11:21, "Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand," I find myself reflecting on the reality of opposition that comes to those who stand firm in Your truth. Lord, just as Jeremiah faced opposition and threats from those who rejected Your word, I too recognize that there are moments in my life when darkness encroaches and fears arise due to foes in both seen and unseen realms.
I lift up my heart to You, O God, asking for Your protection from all adversaries who seek to undermine Your purpose for my life. Deliver me from those who would speak against Your name, those who would try to silence my voice and quench the calling You have placed upon me. Just as Jeremiah was fearless in relaying Your messages, I pray for the courage to proclaim Your truth despite any intimidation I may face. Strengthen my faith, Lord, that I may stand unwavering like the prophet, declaring boldly the good news of Your love and salvation to a world that desperately needs it.
Heavenly Father, I ask that You surround me with Your divine presence. Send forth Your angels to guard and protect me from any who would seek to harm me, both physically and spiritually. I claim Your Word, which promises protection to those who trust in You. Psalm 91:15 reminds us that, "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.” I hold steadfast to this assurance and acknowledge that You are my refuge and fortress, my shield in times of trouble.
Lord, grant me the wisdom to discern Your voice amidst the noise of the world, and the grace to respond with love and truth to those who oppose me. Teach me to pray for my enemies, as You have called me to do, and to seek reconciliation and understanding wherever possible. Help me to bear witness to Your kingdom and embody Your light, even toward those who wish me harm.
As I navigate this life, I ask for Your guidance and strength to navigate the challenges that come my way. May I remain focused on my purpose – to glorify You and make Your name known in the earth. Protect my heart from fear and anxiety, for I know You are with me. When the wind blows fiercely and the storms of life press in, remind me of Your power—a power that can calm the raging seas and silence the storms with but a word.
In moments when I feel overwhelmed or challenged to compromise my values, I will lean into Your strength. I will wait upon You, for I know that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
Thank You, Father, for the protection that is found in You alone. May I glorify You in every season of my life, and may my heart always remain steadfast, trusting in Your unfailing goodness and mercy. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
