A Prayer for Righteousness and Integrity in Our Endeavors
"¶ Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;" - Jeremiah 22:13
O Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with humble hearts, acknowledging the weighty admonition found in Jeremiah 22:13, where it is declared, “Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work.” Lord, let these words resonate within us as we seek to live lives that are pleasing in Your sight, filled with justice, fairness, and righteousness.

We ask You, Lord, to open our eyes to the ways in which we might be unknowingly contributing to these injustices. If we are benefitting from the labor of others without offering fair compensation, convict us of such errors that we may rectify our actions and choose to honor those who work for us. Show us how to create a culture of respect and gratitude for labor, fostering environments where everyone feels valued and fairly compensated.
Please strengthen our resolve, O God, to build our lives on the principles of honesty and charity, rather than dishonesty and greed. Help us to remember that every decision we make impacts not only ourselves but those around us. May the choices we make lead to a legacy of righteousness that can be witnessed by generations to come.
In our desire for success and progress, let us not forget that true prosperity is found in the blessings of living uprightly. Teach us, Lord, to prioritize our relationships with others, understanding that they matter far more than any material gain we can achieve. Grant us the courage to speak up against unfair practices and to stand alongside those who are oppressed.
We pray for the leaders of our nations and communities. May they govern justly and ensure that all individuals are treated with respect and equity, allowing everyone the opportunity to succeed through their own hard work and dedication. Let them embody the principles of righteousness as described in Your Word, so that the foundations of our societies may be built upon fairness, justice, and compassion.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace as we strive to embody these qualities. May we continually be transformed to exemplify Your love and righteousness in this world that so desperately needs to see Your reflection.
