O Lord, our God, our Creator, our Sustainer, and our Teacher, we come before You today with hearts that seek Your presence and eyes that yearn to see Your truth. We acknowledge the profound wisdom found in Your Word, particularly in the verses of Jeremiah 32:33, which remind us of the waywardness of our hearts. As it is written in the King James Version, "And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction."

Heavenly Father, we confess that we often turn our backs to You. In moments of trial, in our busyness, and amidst the distractions of this world, we have failed to keep our faces towards You. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have neglected Your teachings, for each moment we have chosen our own paths over Your wisdom. We realize that we are like the children of Israel, who after witnessing Your mighty works and receiving Your instruction still chose to wander away from Your guidance.

Lord, we acknowledge that You have taught us early and often, that Your commitment to us is unwavering despite our fickleness. Your Word has been our light, shining brightly in the darkness, yet we have allowed the shadows of this world and the noise of our lives to drown out Your voice. We cry out to You today, as we reflect on our need for Your direction and teaching.

Father, help us to cultivate hearts that are receptive to Your instruction. Create in us a spirit of humility that longs to learn from You. Strengthen our resolve to seek Your face rather than turn away from You. You have called us to be wise, yet we have often acted foolishly. Teach us to embrace the lessons You provide through both joyful and challenging circumstances.

We pray that You would instill in us a deep yearning—what the poet Malcolm Guite calls a "Holy Longing," that we might long for Your presence and truth in our lives. May we rise up early, as You do, eager and prepared to listen, for we know that our understanding is fleeting without Your guidance. May our ears be attuned to Your whispers, and our hearts be soft enough to receive the correction and counsel You extend to us.

Lord, we pray for a revival within us, igniting a desire to come back to You fully and wholeheartedly. Transform our minds, our hearts, and our spirits so that we may walk in obedience to Your word. Help us to witness Your work in our lives, knowing that Your loving guidance leads us to a path of righteousness. Let us rejoice in the knowledge that when we turn to You, we not only find instruction but also love, grace, and mercy beyond measure.

Holy Spirit of God, we invite You to mold us and shape us as we seek to deepen our relationship with You. Let our lives be a testimony of obedience and faith, reflecting the grace we receive from You daily. Equip us to encourage others who may also be wandering, reminding them to turn their faces towards You.

As we conclude this prayer, we do so with the promise found in Your Word that no teaching of Yours is in vain. We give thanks for the gift of instruction, let our lives align with Your purpose and allow us to live as witnesses of love and obedience.
