A Prayer of Gratitude for Life and Favor
"Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit." - Job 10:12

O Lord God Almighty,
As I come before Thy powerful presence this day, my heart swells with gratitude and reverence for the countless blessings Thou hast poured into my life. I am reminded of Job 10:12, where Your Word declares, "Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit."
Indeed, Lord, it is by Your mercy that I draw breath each morning, and I do not take this precious gift for granted. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the life You have bestowed upon me—a life filled with purpose, beauty, and possibilities. Your miraculous handiwork is evident in the raising of the sun that brings light to my day, in the gentle caress of the breeze that refreshes my spirit, and in the vibrant colors of the seasons that remind me of Your creativity and love.
Lord, I acknowledge that life itself is a precious gift, and I pray that I may embrace it fully, living each moment with intention and gratitude. Teach me, O God, to see life through the lens of Your divine perspective. Help me to understand that in every challenge, there lies an opportunity for growth; in every joy, an invitation to celebrate Your goodness; and in every sorrow, a chance to deepen my trust in You.
I thank You also for the favor that You have granted to me—favor that is not earned, but is a reflection of Your grace and love. I thank You for the relationships You have blessed me with—family, friends, and companions who enrich my journey and share in my joys and tribulations. May I never take them for granted, but may I always treasure the time spent with them as a divine appointment orchestrated by Your loving hands.
Your favor extends beyond the personal; I recognize it in the opportunities and provisions You place before me. You open doors that no man can shut and provide in ways that surpass my understanding. I ask for wisdom to recognize and fully embrace these blessings, to be a steward of the resources and talents You have placed within me, and to extend the favor I receive to others in my life.
Moreover, I am eternally grateful for Your visitation that has preserved my spirit through the tumultuous storms of life. When the waves of despair threatened to engulf me, You reached out with Your loving hand, guiding me through the darkness into the light of Your truth. You have comforted my aching heart and uplifted my weary spirit, reminding me that I am never alone in my struggles. I cherish the moments of divine encounter when I felt Your presence surrounding me, whispering peace and assurance in my heart.
Lord, I pray for the continuous touch of Your visitation in my life. May I remain sensitive to your presence and attentive to Your voice. Help me to cultivate a spirit of openness, allowing You to mold my heart each day. Let my spirit be preserved, rooted deeply in trust, faith, and hope, anchored by the truth of Your Word. I ask that You fill me with Your Holy Spirit, renewing my mind and rekindling my passion for life, so that I may boldly proclaim the goodness of Your name wherever I go.
As I navigate the complexities of this life, I commit to honoring You and reflecting Your love to those around me. I seek to be a vessel of Your grace—a bearer of light amid darkness. Thank You for granting me life and favor, and for preserving my spirit through Your ever-faithful visitation.
In Jesus Christ’s name, I pray,
Amen.
