A Prayer for Unity in His Glory
"And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:" - John 17:22

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts filled with gratitude and reverence, acknowledging Your majesty and the glory that flows from Your throne. Lord, as we reflect on the profound words of our Savior in John 17:22, we are reminded of the immense gift of glory that You bestowed upon Him—the glory that transcends our understanding, the glory that is woven into the fabric of Your divine nature.
As Jesus declared, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one,” we recognize the weight of this truth. Father, Your son, our Redeemer, shared His divine glory with us, not for our own glorification, but to bring us into unity—unity with each other and unity with You. We humbly ask that You help us fully embrace this sacred gift of glory, recognizing our responsibility to live in harmony as believers, reflecting Your love and grace to the world around us.
Lord, we confess that often we have taken this divine gift for granted, neglecting the call to unity in our communities and fellowships, allowing divisions, misunderstandings, and personal grievances to overshadow the love of Christ in us. We seek Your forgiveness for these shortcomings, for instances where we have chosen pride over humility, judgment over grace, and isolation over fellowship.
Help us to remember that the glory that You have given us is not a badge of honor to lift us up, but a gentle call to unite us in purpose, in love, and in spirit. May we be reminded that every time we choose to embrace one another—with all our differences and diverse backgrounds—we reflect the unity that exists within the Holy Trinity, where You, O Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are eternally one.
In a world that is fragmented and divided, Lord, empower us to manifest this unity as a testament of Your glory. May our lives be a canvas of Your divine artistry, showcasing the beauty of community formed through love and mutual respect. Teach us to see each other through Your eyes, acknowledging the inherent worth and dignity that You have placed in every soul. Let us be instruments of healing, sowing seeds of peace where there is strife, and extending grace where there is discord.
Help us to cultivate relationships that reflect the essence of Your glory; a glory that is unselfish, sacrificial, and overflowing with compassion. Let our gatherings be filled with encouraging words, understanding hearts, and supportive hands. Reveal to us the power of togetherness in prayer, in worship, and in acts of kindness, shining brightly in a dim world as we are drawn closer to one another in Your presence.
Lord, may our unity be a witness to those outside the faith, drawing them to You through our love. In a world yearning for belonging, may we point others to Christ, who prayed fervently for our unity. Let our love for one another echo the love You have for us. As we share in the glory of Your Son, let us not only bask in it, but also reflect it to the world around us.
As we journey forward together, clad in the glory of Christ, let us strive toward the same goal. Equip us with wisdom to navigate our differences and strengthen us to bolster one another in faith. May we dwell in Your love and align our hearts with Your purpose, fostering a community where unity reigns.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray,
Amen.
