A Prayer of Blessing and Unity

"¶ Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them," - Joshua 22:7

"¶ Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them," - Joshua 22:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with a heart full of gratitude and reverence, reflecting on the words of Joshua 22:7, which remind us of Your promise of inheritance and the blessings You bestow upon Your people. "Now to the one half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given possession in Bashan: but unto the other half thereof gave Joshua among their brethren on this side Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away also unto their tents, then he blessed them," Lord, we recognize the significance of this passage as it speaks of both allocation and unity among Your chosen people.

Lord, we thank You for the ways You provide for us, just as You provided for the tribes of Israel. You have designated territories for each tribe, showing that You have a specific plan for every individual and community within Your kingdom. Help us to understand that our blessings are not solely for our benefit but also to uplift those around us. Just as the half-tribe of Manasseh received their inheritance on both sides of the Jordan, may we too learn to share the blessings You have so graciously poured into our lives.

Father, we acknowledge that there may be divisions in our lives, our families, and even among congregations and communities. The division of the tribe reflects that while we may have different paths and possessions, we are all part of the same family. Help us to lean into the understanding that our varying gifts, resources, and territories are meant to complement one another rather than divide us. Teach us to recognize the beauty in our diversity, reminding us that we are stronger together, united in purpose and love.

As Joshua sent the warriors back to their tents, he blessed them. Lord, I pray that we, too, may be conduits of Your blessing to those around us. May our words encourage, uplift, and empower them as they return to their homes and communities. Help us to follow Joshua’s example, taking the time to bless others, knowing that a small gesture can create a ripple effect of positivity and love. Let our blessings reflect Your heart, pouring out not just encouragement but also a spirit of unity and peace, transcending any divisions that may arise among us.

Lord, we seek forgiveness for the times we have allowed misunderstandings and differences to create barriers within our relationships. Restore in us a spirit of reconciliation, and guide us toward love rather than judgment. Teach us to bless others, even those who think differently or live differently. Help us remember the power of our words and actions, how they can build bridges where once there were walls.

As we remember the tribe of Manasseh, may we also remember our responsibility to support and uplift one another. Give us eyes to see those in need within our community and hearts ready to respond with compassion and generosity. May we extend our hands in service, just as Joshua extended his blessing with a open heart, recognizing that we are all part of the same family under Your care.

Finally, Lord, I pray for peace as we return to our ‘tents’—our homes, our workplaces, and our various spheres of influence. May each of us carry the blessing You have given to us, shining brightly in the spaces we occupy. Let our lives be a testament of Your love, grace, and generosity, echoing the spirit with which Joshua blessed the tribes of Israel.

In Your holy name, I pray, Amen.
