A Prayer for Boldness and Faith as We Cross Life's Jordan
"And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over." - Joshua 3:1

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You on this day, I am reminded of the moment that Joshua and the children of Israel rose early in the morning, as written in Your sacred word: "And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over" (Joshua 3:1, KJV). Lord, I thank You for the powerful example of obedience, leadership, and faith that Joshua exemplifies. Today, I seek Your guidance and strength as I navigate the trials and journeys of my own life.
Lord, just as Joshua led the Israelites to their significant transition, I find myself at the brink of my own Jordan. I stand at the edge of new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and perhaps daunting challenges. Help me, Lord, to rise early each morning with a spirit eager to conquer whatever lies ahead. May I prepare my heart and mind to face the challenges of the day, knowing that You walk alongside me.
God, I acknowledge that the Jordan can be daunting. It may represent fears, insecurities, or uncertainties that hold me back. Just as the waters of the Jordan were high and the path was unclear for the Israelites, I too may encounter obstacles that seem insurmountable. Instill in me the faith that Joshua held: a conviction that with You, all things are possible. May I remember the promise of Your presence, for You said, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee" (Isaiah 41:10, KJV).
Prepare me, O Lord, for the crossings that await. Fill me with courage as I face the waters that stand before me. Let me recognize the significance of those moments when I must step out in faith, trusting that You will dry up the waters, just as You did for Joshua and the people of Israel. I pray for a steadfast heart that does not waver in doubt but holds firmly to the anchor of faith that is Jesus Christ. May my steps be aligned with Your will, and as I prepare to cross over, let it be done in accordance with Your perfect plan.
Mighty God, I also lift up the community around me. Just as Joshua did not embark on this journey alone but brought all the children of Israel with him, I pray that I may be a source of encouragement to others. May I look for those who are also standing at their own Jordan, and extend a hand to support them as we pursue our divine callings together. Help us to strengthen one another, sharing our faith stories and reminding each other of the victories You have provided in the past.
Father, I also seek forgiveness for the times I have let fear dictate my actions. When I have allowed uncertainty to hold me back, I ask for a renewal of spirit and strength. May I be molded into a vessel of faith—ready to take bold steps towards the future You have promised. Let not my heart be troubled, for You have promised that You would never leave nor forsake us.
As I delve into my day, reminding myself of Joshua’s firm resolve to lead his people, I pray for clarity of vision and purpose. Guide my decisions, align my thoughts with Yours, and aid me in living a life that is a testament to Your glory.
I thank You, Lord, that there is always hope for a new beginning. With faith anchored in Your Word, I prepare my heart to rise early, to advance in Your service, and to see the miraculous unfold before my eyes.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
