Empowered for Victory: A Prayer based on Luke 10:19
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." - Luke 10:19

Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus Christ, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and awe for the power that You have bestowed upon us. As Your Word declares in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." What a profound affirmation of Your love and protection! I stand in reverence as I contemplate the depths of this promise that You have made to us, Your children.
Lord, I thank You that You have equipped us with power — divine power that enables us to rise above our circumstances, to tread upon the challenges that life presents. You have not left us defenseless or vulnerable against the trials and tribulations that seek to overwhelm us; instead, You have armed us with strength and authority that comes from You alone. This power is not of our own making; it is a gift from the Creator of the universe, and I am grateful beyond words.
Father, help us to fully understand and wield this power responsibly. Let it not become a source of pride or self-reliance, but a means through which we can glorify Your name. When we encounter serpents and scorpions — which may symbolize the wickedness and hostility of this world, as well as the spiritual battles we face — remind us that we do not fight for victory but from victory. Your Word reassures us that Jesus has already triumphed over sin, death, and the enemy. We take comfort in this knowledge, knowing that with You by our side, we are more than conquerors.
As we face the adversities of life, Lord, I pray that You grant us discernment to recognize when we are under attack. Open our eyes to see the schemes of the enemy, that we may not be caught off guard. Help us to take authority in every situation that seeks to bring fear or despair, declaring over our lives the truth of Your Word. "Nothing shall by any means hurt you" becomes our mantra, a shield that guards our hearts and minds against the lies of the enemy.
I pray for boldness and courage in our spirits, Lord. May we tread upon serpents and scorpions not timidly, but with confidence and assurance, knowing that the power of God is within us. Let us not shrink back in fear or intimidation, but be emboldened to confront the darkness with the light of Christ, knowing that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
Lord, I ask that You cover us with Your divine protection. Surround us with Your angels, encamp them around us as we march forward in faith, exercising the dominion that You have granted us. May our families, our homes, and our communities feel the impact of this power as we represent Your Kingdom here on earth.
In the midst of trials, may we also remember to uplift and help others who may feel powerless. Instill in us a spirit of compassion and strength to intercede on behalf of those who are hurting and oppressed. Let us be vessels of Your love and power, sharing the hope and salvation found solely in You.
Thank You, Lord, for the promise of protection and empowerment. I declare that we will not live in fear, but in faith, equipped with the authority given to us through Christ Jesus. May we stand firm, rejoice in our identity as Your beloved children, and carry forth the message of hope that comes from knowing that You have given us the power to tread upon every serpent and scorpion that dares to come our way.
In Jesus' precious name, I pray.
Amen.
