A Prayer for Trust in Divine Justice
"And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?" - Luke 18:7

Heavenly Father, Gracious and Majestic God,
I come before You today with a humble heart, seeking Your presence and grace. As I meditate upon Your Word, particularly the profound truth found in Luke 18:7, which declares, "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?" I am filled with a deep sense of reverence and gratitude for the assurance that You provide to Your children, that You are ever aware of our cries and our struggles.
Lord, I recognize that the world is fraught with injustices, and my heart often grows heavy as I witness the suffering of the innocent, the oppression of the weak, and the silence of those who call upon You for help. But You remind me through Your Word that we are not forgotten; You are the avenger of those whom society may overlook. You see every tear that falls, every silent prayer, and every desperate plea whispered in the dark hours of the night. I come to You today not just in search of justice, but to solidify my faith in Your righteous judgment.
Father, I acknowledge that Your timing is not always in alignment with my own understanding and my earthly expectations. Sometimes You seem distant, and my prayers feel unanswered. To cry out day and night can become wearying, and I confess that at times, I have faltered in my trust, questioning whether You truly hear me. Yet, I remember that You have called me Your elect, chosen, and precious in Your sight.
I pray for an increase of faith, Lord, that I may persist in my cries even when the answers are delayed. Help me to find strength in the truth that You do hear, even when the silence feels overwhelming. Your Word assures me that You do not ignore the prayers of Your saints. Teach me to be patient, to understand the depth of Your love, and to remain steadfast, trusting in Your perfect plan and purpose for my life.
Father, as I wait, I ask for the grace to see Your hand at work, even amid trials and tribulations. Help me to discern signs of Your presence and activity in my life, for sometimes Your resolve may come in a form I did not expect. Instill within me a heart that is willing to accept Your will regardless of how different it may seem from my desires, knowing that You are a God of justice overflowing with mercy and grace.
The pain and struggles I face may sometimes seem insurmountable. I therefore entrust to You all those who are struggling with injustices: the marginalized, the downtrodden, and those who languish in despair. Your Word emphasizes that You will avenge Your elect, so I place my trust and the trust of all oppressed souls in Your capable hands. May Your swift justice come to those who cry out to You.
I also pray for those who have lost hope and have given in to despair, for they must not feel abandoned. Help me to be a source of encouragement and a beacon of light to those in need, reminding them of Your faithfulness and assuring them that You hear their cries. May I stand beside them, lifting them up in prayer and helping to bear their burdens.
Lord, I thank You for the reassurance that Your justice will prevail and that You are always attentive to our needs. You are faithful, and Your promises are true. I will press on as Your child, crying out to You in faith and trust, for I know that in due time, You will bring about justice and relief.
In Your holy name, I pray,
Amen.
