A Prayer for Divine Assistance: Seeking the Lord's Help

"Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me." - Matthew 15:25

"Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me." - Matthew 15:{verse.verse_number}

O Lord, Most High,

With a heart bowed low in reverence and humility, I come before You, acknowledging Your sovereignty and infinite wisdom. As I reflect on the words from Matthew 15:25, where the woman approached You in desperate need, I, too, find myself in moments of urgency and dire necessity. She came to You, worshipping and crying out, ‘Lord, help me!’ It is with that same spirit of earnest supplication that I approach Your throne of grace today.

Heavenly Father, how we recognize that our lives are filled with trials and burdens that often seem insurmountable. Even now, I carry the weight of concerns that press heavily upon my heart—be they health issues, relationship struggles, financial troubles, or spiritual warfare. Yet, in the midst of my challenges, I am reminded of this woman’s unwavering faith; how she did not hesitate to seek You out, to worship You, and to lay her request at Your feet. May her example embolden me to turn to You in faith, trusting that You are both able and willing to assist me in my need.

Lord, I beseech You, as she did, with sincerity of heart: ‘Help me!’ I need Your divine intervention in my life. You see my struggles, O Lord, and You know the depths of my despair. Just as she recognized You as her only source of hope, I, too, declare that You alone can illuminate the darkness that surrounds me. Grant me the courage to come to You openly, without pretense or fear of judgment, just as the woman did. Help me to worship You in spirit and in truth, acknowledging Your majesty and authority over all creation.

In moments when I feel overwhelmed, remind me of Your promises. Your Word assures us that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Allow me to feel Your comforting presence enveloping me, reminding me that I am never alone in my struggles. Even in the throes of despair, may I lift my voice in worship, for I know that You inhabit the praises of Your people. Draw near to me now, Lord, as I call out for help.

I also pray for wisdom and patience as I endure through the situations that challenge me. Help me to have the faith to lean not on my own understanding, but to acknowledge You in all my ways, trusting that You will direct my paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). While I seek resolution, may I also be open to the lessons You wish to teach me in this season of trial. Let my testimony of deliverance and faith encourage others to seek You in their own struggles.

Gracious God, I submit my requests unto You with gratitude, knowing that Your answers may come in forms I do not expect. Help me to recognize Your hand at work, even if the outcome does not align with my own desires. Let me hold fast to a faith that does not waver, even when the answers linger. Teach me to rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

In moments of doubt, remind me of the instance in Matthew 15, how the woman continued to press in, unyielding and persistent. Lord, grant me that same resilience, and never let my faith falter. I pledge to come to You daily, worshipping and seeking Your grace, echoing her words as my own: ‘Lord, help me!’

As I walk through this life, may I always remember to lift my voice in praise, bringing glory to Your name, even while I wait for Your assistance. Strengthen me, O Lord, as I face the trials ahead. I thank You for hearing my prayer, for being my refuge and strength, my very present help in trouble.

I pray all of this in the name of Jesus, my Savior, who is ever present to help me in my time of need. Amen.
