O Sovereign Lord, God of all creation, we humbly bow before You today, acknowledging Your supreme authority over heaven and earth. We come with reverence into Your presence, recalling the words found in the book of Matthew, chapter 21, verse 23: "And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?"

Lord, as we reflect on this moment in Scripture, we are drawn into the weight of this question—the profound inquiry into authority. In a world filled with opinions and conflicting statements about who holds power and how it is applied, it is vital for us to turn our hearts to You, the ultimate authority.
