Prayer for Understanding and Awareness of Christ's Foundation
"Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?" - Matthew 21:42

O Heavenly Father, Creator of all, I come before You today with a humble heart, seeking wisdom and understanding through Your Word. As I reflect on Matthew 21:42, where Jesus saith unto them, "Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?" I stand in awe of Your divine plan and the profound truth that lies within these ancient words.
Lord, help me to grasp the importance of this message. In a world that often overlooks and undervalues what is essential, I ask for Your spirit to enlighten me to the significance of Christ as the cornerstone of my life. May I never be like those builders who rejected the very stone that would hold the weight of all that is true and right. Open my eyes to see how I, too, may be prone to dismiss what is precious in Your sight.
As I contemplate the notion of rejection, I realize how easy it is to overlook the gifts You have placed before me. Perhaps, in my daily busyness, I miss the beauty of the blessings that are around me, including my relationships, opportunities, and even the trials that draw me closer to You. Lord, grant me the grace to see Your hand in everything, and to recognize that Your ways are higher than my ways.
Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, the cornerstone rejected by many yet chosen by You to establish the foundation of our faith. Help me to remember that in my weakest moments, when I feel unwanted or insignificant, it is Jesus whom I can rely upon. Just as He was cast aside by the builders, I, too, may face rejection in this world. Yet, in Christ, I find my acceptance. I am reminded that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and my value is intrinsic in Your eyes.
As we look to the cornerstone, may we also appreciate its stability and strength. Lord, I pray that You would help me build my life on this foundation. May my faith in Christ anchor me during stormy seas and challenges. You have established Him as the head of the corner not only as a source of strength but also as a model of selfless love and humility. May I reflect these attributes in my own life.
The scriptures reveal that this is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes. Lord, I desire to see the marvellous works that You are doing in my life and in the world around me. Open my eyes to see beyond the mundane, and to recognize the extraordinary in the ordinary. Just as the rejected stone became the cornerstone, let this truth resonate in my heart that what appears to be failure or disappointment may actually be the beginning of Your greater purpose.
Holy Spirit, guide me as I seek to share this truth with others. Use me as an instrument of Your peace, to show others the significance of Christ and the importance of accepting Him as their cornerstone. Help me to communicate the love of Jesus to those who feel lost, rejected, or overlooked, so they too may find their worth in Him.
Finally, Lord, I pray for an ever-deepening relationship with You. Let my heart be captivated by Your grace and truth, and may my life be a testament to the wonder of Your ways. May I, and all who call upon Your name, continually marvel at the works You are doing. May we shine brightly in a world that often misses the miracles right in front of them.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, my cornerstone, I pray.
Amen.
