Prayer for Wisdom and Family Honor
"A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother." - Proverbs 15:20

Heavenly Father,
I humbly come before You today, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and understanding. I open my heart to the truths found in Your Holy Word, especially the profound insights of Proverbs 15:20, which teaches us: "A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother."
Lord, as I reflect on this scripture, I realize the weight it carries in the dynamics of our family relationships. I pray for the wisdom that leads to joy and gladness within our homes. Grant me the discernment to act wisely in all my interactions, as a child of my parents, as a sibling, and as a member of our family unit. Let my decisions and actions reflect the wisdom that comes from above, so I may be a source of joy and pride to my father and mother.
Father, I ask that You imbue within me a spirit of understanding and humility. Help me to recognize the sacrifices that my parents have made for me, the love that they have shown, and the lessons they have imparted upon me throughout my life. Enable me, dear God, to honor them in the words I speak and the deeds I perform. Let me seek to uplift them and return the love they have given so selflessly.
In seeking to embody wisdom, I beseech You to cultivate within me a heart that desires to make choices that honor my parents. May my life choices manifest in ways that bring joy to my father and mother, so they may look upon me with gladness and delight. Help me to be a beacon of light in their lives, a testament to their teachings, and a source of encouragement in their journey.
Lord, You remind us that a foolish man despises his mother. I pray against any spirit of folly that might tempt me to disregard or be disrespectful towards my mother. Forgive me for any moments of ungratefulness or rebellion that may have hurt her heart. Teach me, O Lord, to cherish and to care for her as the precious gift that she is in my life. Let my heart always be filled with gratitude for the nurturing and love she has poured into me. May I never take her for granted, but instead honor her with my respect and appreciation.
I also pray for my parents, that You bless them with wisdom and strength as they continue their journey. Provide them with the grace to guide me and our family with love and patience. Strengthen them as they navigate their roles, and may they always feel Your presence in their decisions. Surround them with Your peace, and may they find comfort in knowing their efforts are not in vain. Let their hearts be filled with joy as they witness my focus on making wise choices rooted in love for family.
Father, I extend this prayer beyond my own family. I pray for all children everywhere, that they may seek wisdom and understanding, allowing Your truth to guide their paths. Empower them to cherish their parents and cultivate relationships that are filled with mutual respect, love, and kindness. I ask that You bring healing to families fractured by foolishness, nurturing relationships that reflect Your divine purpose.
As I strive to be a wise son, I ask for Your guidance each day. Help me not only to honor my parents but to lead others in honoring theirs. I desire to be a witness of Your goodness and wisdom within my family, that generations may be blessed through our ties of love and respect.
Thank You for listening to my prayer, O Lord. I trust in Your unfailing love and guidance as I endeavor to bring joy to my father and to honor my mother every day of my life.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
