Heavenly Father,

I come before You today, Lord, with a heart full of reverence and humility. You, who are the very essence of truth and justice, I seek Your guidance and wisdom as I meditate upon Your word, specifically Proverbs 19:28, which declares, "An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity." Lord, I recognize the deep truths contained in this scripture, and I implore You to speak into the depths of my soul.

Father, I acknowledge that in this world, there are many among us who do not adhere to Your statutes and commandments. The ungodly wield their influence, and their words often bear testimony to deceit and malice rather than justice and righteousness. I pray, O Lord, that we might not fall under their sway nor become entangled in their schemes. Rather, let us rise as witnesses of truth, grounded firmly in the teachings of Your word.

As I reflect on the phrase, "An ungodly witness scorneth judgment," I come before You with a heavy heart for those who testify deceitfully, who stray from Your path and lead others astray. Lord, have mercy on them. Transform their hearts and minds, that they might recognize the gravity of their actions. Help them to see how their decisions do not just affect their own destinies but also the lives of countless others who are looking to them for guidance and truth. Open their eyes to the fact that true judgment comes from You alone, and that those who scorn it will ultimately face the consequences of their actions.

I pray for the victims of such ungodly witnesses, for those who suffer under the weight of lies and slander. May Your justice roll down like waters, and may they find solace in Your presence. Grant them the strength to persevere in truth, even when surrounded by falsehood. Father, let their cries rise up to You, and may Your ear be ever attuned to their pleas. Remind them that though the wicked may appear to triumph for a season, Your ultimate judgment prevails and Your righteousness will shine forth.

Scripture teaches us that "the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity," and I come to You, Lord, with the urgency of this truth in mind. The words spoken by those who choose wickedness often lead themselves and others deeper into sin, often cloaking their actions with the guise of normalcy or acceptance. I ask, dear Father, that You would guard my heart and the hearts of my loved ones from the snares of empty rhetoric and harmful speech. Instill in us a desire for honesty, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of what is right in Your eyes.

Help us to discern our conversations and to avoid the temptation of engaging in gossip, slander, or any form of deceitful talk. May our words be seasoned with grace, emanating from a heart rooted in love and truth. Inspire us to be voices for justice, acting as beacons of light in a world that often revels in darkness.

Lord, I also pray for those in positions of authority or influence who may feel the weight of judgment upon them. Strengthen them to uphold righteousness and live by example, yielding to Your higher calling. Grant them the courage to renounce wickedness in all its forms and to stand boldly for truth and justice, even when it is unpopular.

In the midst of evil, let us be reminded of Your perfect justice, Father. Turn our hearts to forgive and to seek peace, while holding firm to the accountabilities You’ve set before us. May we rest in the assurance that no act of wickedness goes unnoticed by You, and that in timeliness, You shall right all wrongs. Draw us closer to You, Lord, that our lives may reflect the beauty of Your righteousness and compel others towards the same.
