Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart full of reverence and humility, acknowledging that You are the Sovereign Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. I thank You for Your Word, which guides us in every aspect of our lives. Today, I reflect deeply on the profound wisdom found in Proverbs 22:7, "The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."

Lord, in this world where wealth and influence often dictate the course of lives and destinies, I seek Your wisdom to navigate the complexities of financial matters. Teach me, O God, to understand the implications of these words and to apply them in a way that honors You. Help me to recognize the impact that wealth can have, not only on individuals but also on families, communities, and nations. May I not be consumed by envy or greed, but instead, may I strive to understand Your perspective on riches and poverty.

Father, I pray for the rich, that they may possess their wealth with humility and generosity. Let them not rule with an iron fist, but rather serve as stewards of their resources. May their hearts be open to those in need, and may they see their wealth as an opportunity to bless others and not merely a tool for power. Help them to understand that true riches are not measured by what we possess but by how we love and serve those around us.

I also pray for the poor among us, Lord. In a world where they often face struggles, I ask that You lift their heads and fill them with hope. May they find encouragement in Your promises, believing that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You provide for all of our needs. Let them not be defined by their circumstances but by their identity in You. Help them to trust in Your provision, and grant them the strength to persevere in difficult times.

Moreover, Lord, I seek wisdom regarding debt. I understand the weight of being a servant to the lender—it can lead to anxiety, stress, and a feeling of entrapment. Help me to be prudent with my resources and to live within my means. Teach me the value of saving and planning for the future so that I may avoid the pitfalls of unnecessary debt. Wherever my faith may falter, give me strength to remain disciplined in my financial choices.

Heavenly Father, I ask for Your guidance if I find myself in a position of owing debts. In my struggles, remind me to seek help from wise mentors and advisors who can provide sound counsel. Grant me patience as I strive to pay off what I owe, and let my actions in this regard reflect my commitment to integrity and responsibility. As I labor to free myself from financial bondage, instill within me a spirit of gratitude, even in challenging circumstances, trusting that You are with me through it all.

Lord, I pray that in all things related to wealth and debt, I may exhibit Your character. As I encounter both the rich and the poor, let me approach each person with love and respect, seeing beyond economic status to the heart of the individual. May I, as Your servant, be an instrument of peace and equity, advocating for justice and compassion in every interaction.

Lastly, I pray that my ultimate reliance and trust remain in You, not in riches or human agreements. Help me to remember that true security comes from a relationship with You. Guide me to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, believing that as I do, all these things will be added unto me. Lord, I surrender my financial concerns to You, trusting in Your goodness and provision.
