A Prayer for Protection Against Temptation
"To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman." - Proverbs 6:24

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a heart full of gratitude for Your unwavering love and guidance. I thank You for Your Holy Word, which is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). In these turbulent times, when the distractions of the world and the snares of temptation loom large, I find solace in the promises laid out in Scripture. Today, I focus my thoughts on the wise counsel of Proverbs 6:24, where it says, "To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman."
Lord, I recognize that the world is filled with influences that aim to lead me astray. The flattery of the tongue, the charm and allure of those who do not walk in Your ways can appear enticing, yet I know that their words are empty promises, drawing me away from the truth that resides in You. I ask for Your protection against such temptations; guard my heart and my mind against the persuasion of those who seek to distract me from my path.
Father, I pray for wisdom and discernment. Help me to see through the glitter of deceit and to recognize when the enemy is attempting to ensnare me. Let me not be swayed by smooth words or attractive appearances, but instead, may I be anchored in Your truth. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, that I may always seek to align my desires with Your will. Guide my thoughts and my decisions, that they may glorify You and draw me closer to Your heart.
In these moments of trial, remind me to turn to You first. When I feel tempted or unsure, may I find refuge in prayer, seeking Your guidance. Teach me to rely on the strength that comes from spending time in Your presence, meditating on Your Word, and surrounding myself with those who share my faith. Help me to build strong relationships with people who encourage and uplift me in my journey to righteousness.
Lord, I also pray for those who may be struggling with similar temptations. I ask that You extend Your grace to them just as You have been gracious to me. Surround them with Your love and protection, so they may recognize the truth in Your Word and experience the freedom that comes from walking in Your ways. May they find the strength to reject the flattery and seduction of this world and turn instead to You, their true source of strength and fulfillment.
I lift up my life to You, asking that every area be made pleasing in Your sight. Protect my relationships from harmful influences and distracting encounters. May I pursue friendships and connections that draw me closer to You and help me grow in understanding and love. Strengthen the bonds I have with those who share my beliefs, and help us to encourage one another in our faith.
Let my heart be a dwelling place for Your truth, Lord. In every situation, may I seek the guidance of Your Word, turning to Scripture as my primary source of wisdom. Grant me the courage to stand firm against any temptation, knowing that You are always with me. May I remember the warning of Proverbs, and may it serve as a reminder of Your desire for my purity and steadfastness.
I pray for your constant vigilance in my life. May I remain alert and aware, ever mindful of the traps laid by the enemy. Fill my heart with a longing to know You more, a desire to be drawn deeper into Your love and truth, and may that be the shield that protects me against any form of temptation.
In all things, I trust in Your faithfulness, Lord. I thank You for Your guidance and Your protection. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.
