Heavenly Father,

As we come before You today, we recognize and acknowledge Your sovereignty over all creation. Your deep wisdom and perfect justice reign supreme, and we find solace in the knowledge that You are our ultimate judge and protector. In light of Psalm 11:6, where it is written, "Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup," we turn our hearts to you, seeking understanding, strength, and guidance in times of trouble.

Lord, we are living in a world filled with strife and chaos, where wickedness seems to flourish. It often feels as if those who do harm go unpunished, and the innocent suffer without cause. In these moments of doubt and anguish, remind us of Your omnipresence; remind us that nothing escapes Your watchful eye. We trust that You see every act of injustice, every thought of evil, and every deed that weighs heavily upon our hearts. May we rest in the assurance that despite what appears to be chaos, You are orchestrating a divine plan that will ultimately bring glory to Your name and justice to the earth.

Father, the imagery found in this scripture is vivid and alarming. "Snares, fire, and brimstone", and the stark term, "horrible tempest", reflect the seriousness of Your judgment against the wicked. We pray for mercy upon the perpetrators of evil, yet we also seek justice with righteous fervor. Lord, we ask that You intervene in the affairs of man, that you dismantle the plots of the wicked, and expose their snares, their lies, and their schemes. Let their paths be made crooked and unsteady so that they may not prosper in their wickedness.

As we reflect on the portion of the wicked’s cup that they must drink, we recognize that their choices lead them to this fate. Guide us to make wise choices that align with Your will. May we refuse to partake in the deeds of darkness, instead choosing the light that is Your truth. Instill in us a deep understanding of Your word, that we might discern Your righteous path, and have the courage to follow where You lead, even when it is difficult or unpopular.

Lord, we also lift up our leaders and those in places of authority. Grant them integrity, wisdom, and a heart that seeks after Your justice. May they be filled with the fear of the Lord and have the strength to stand against corruption and injustice, to protect the innocent, and to uphold righteousness within all societal structures. Let not their hearts harden against the cries of the oppressed, but mold them into champions of fairness and truth.

In our personal lives, dear Lord, help us to stand firm against temptation. When the forces of wickedness surround us, give us strength to resist the lure of sin. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us, that we may be vessels of Your truth and instruments of Your peace.

Finally, teach us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. As we strive for justice, let our hearts remain soft, compassionate, and full of love. Use us, dear Father, to point others to Your grace, even in the face of opposition. May our lives reflect Your light and draw others away from the snares and storms that lead to destruction.

We thank You for Your mercy and unending love. Help us trust in Your timing and Your ways. We rest in the knowledge that You are our fortress and shield, and place our fears and anxieties in Your hands. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior, and Redeemer. Amen.
