A Prayer of Thanksgiving for God's Unfailing Presence
"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;" - Psalms 124:1

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and reverence, recognizing Your unwavering presence in our lives. As we reflect on the profound words of Psalm 124:1, "If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;" we are reminded of the incredible truth that if it were not for Your divine intervention, we would not be standing in the grace that we are today. Lord, we acknowledge that every breath we take, every moment we experience, is a testament to Your faithfulness and love.
Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. In the tumult of life’s storms, when the world around us seems chaotic and unforgiving, we find solace in knowing that You are with us. Just as You were with Israel during their trials, guiding them through the wilderness and delivering them from their adversaries, we too believe that Your hand has been upon us, leading us back to safety time and again. We thank You for not leaving us alone, but for walking alongside us and carrying our burdens when we cannot bear them ourselves.
As we reflect on our lives, we can see the numerous instances where we might have faltered, where we could have succumbed to despair, and where our enemies could have overwhelmed us. Yet, each time, we find Your presence there, shielding us from the darts of the enemy. You have surrounded us with Your love, lifted us during our lowest moments, and strengthened us when we felt weak. We are reminded of how many times we were on the brink of destruction, yet You, O LORD, were on our side. We praise You for being our mighty fortress, our stronghold.
Lord, help us to remember the power of this truth in our daily lives. When we face challenges, let us not forget that we do not face them alone. Every time we seek refuge in You, we are assured that we are backed by the Creator of the universe. Each morning we wake, may we declare Your goodness and faithfulness. May we speak not just for ourselves but for all who have experienced Your mighty hand at work in their lives. Let us say, as Israel did, that our hope is found in You alone.
We also pray for those who do not yet recognize Your presence in their lives. May our testimonies serve as a beacon of hope to them, leading them to understand that they too can rely on You in their troubling times. We pen these words with the earnest desire that others would come to appreciate the safety found in Your embrace. Let the lost find You, and let the weary be restored by Your lovingkindness.
As we conclude this prayer, we commit ourselves afresh to You, LORD. We ask for Your wisdom in navigating our challenges. May we remain ever aware that our victories are not by our might or power, but by Your Spirit, working within and through us. Let us be humble and grateful, never forgetting to give You glory for the deliverance we experience daily.
Thank You, Father, for being on our side. Thank You for Your steadfast love that endures forever. May we always sing of Your mercies and proclaim that it is You who has saved us, carried us, and upheld us in our time of need. We seal this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our Savior and King.
Amen.
